“Incredible Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

The entire Casa Soleil experience was absolutely incredible. Soraya is simply a wonderful human being and I cannot thank her enough. She went way out of her way to assist me with everything from losing my bank card to helping me book my return trip. Enough cannot be said about how remarkable they are!
We stayed in the Mirador and Romantica and both were gorgeous!
There's no question where I'll be staying when in Costa Rica again. AMAZING.

I just stayed here last month traveling with friends, and we were so impressed! It's clean, very beautifully decorated, and they even let us bring our dog! The owners are very warm and welcoming, and I can't wait to go back again next month. Definitely a must-visit spot in ST.

Great place, beautiful, comfortable beds, safe, close to everything you need, staff was excellent and smiled and gracious. couldn't ask for a better place close to the waves in Mal Pais/Santa Theresa. Seriously a great stay and a great value for the area.
The area is a great beach, full of surfers, but the water was not that crowded.
We stayed for 9 days, the kids were in the pool the whole time or on the beach. I surfed every morning and afternoon. My wife walked the beach every day, sometimes alone, sometimes with kids. We felt safe leaving the 12/13/7 year olds alone in the house. Things to consider in the visit to the area so that you are not surprised.
Dusty area, rootsy vibe, lots of "cool" surfer/traveler types. Restaurants are very good, not cheap. Credit Cards are not widely accepted, bring cash or a good ATM. Food is expensive at the Supers local, I suggest the drive to Cobano to hit one of the larger Supers. Beach is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Casas De Soleil is beautiful, gardened, and comfortable. Only two things on the whole trip that we were caught off guard with, but even then its about expectations and we would return in a heart beat. Dogs... lots of dogs in the area... we love dogs... love, love, love them... but they are security in Costa Rica and because it is a relatively densely populated strip of land, the dogs bark at nite... we did not use A/C at nite, but had we we would not have heard them.
Secondly, the casa we rented had all outside doors and stairs, so we locked ourselves in our room while our three kids were upstairs in a separate area locked in as well. For the most part i was fine, but my wife is a bit anxious on these matters. So ask what the set up is for you and for what you expect.
I highly recommend Casas de Soleil and think that the owners do a fantastic job, that they take the time to help you and give you the insight to get the most out of your trip. Enjoy and don't mess around if you are looking in this price bracket, just book it with them you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Again, ask what the set up is, on their website they have architecturals posted, but sometimes hard...

We stayed 6 nights in the big house on top of the hill in the large middle floor apartment. Everything from the moment we checked in to the moment we left far exceeded our expectations. We left another accommodation because we were unhappy - and found Soraya on our travels looking for a new place. She had one apartment/house available which was huge for just the 2 of us but we jumped at it because she and her husband Trent were so helpful and professional. The apartment was immaculate, well laid out, nicely decorated, had a semi-private gorgeous pool, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, a great bathroom - 2 sinks and a huge shower, a large deck to watch the sun set, and hang wet clothes, comfy beds, pillows, linens, etc...bottled water...honestly it could not have been better. My husband and I travel a lot and we have stayed in every different kind of accommodation available and I don't think I was ever in a place with such "sincere and devoted" customer service. Soryaya and Trent really want their guests to be happy and love the area and have a great vacation. They make wonderful suggestions for eating and activities and they even introduced us to other guests who they thought we would like, and we did! (We spent many meals with them and had nice conversations at the pool and on the beach.) It was a great vacation and if I could give Casas de Soleil 10 stars I would! Thank you Soraya and Trent!! I hope you read your reviews, every single one is a 5 star rating!

Soraya and Trent are two kind, down-to-earth folks who have a created a beautiful and really special oasis. My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Grande and it far exceeded our expectations. Immaculate, spacious, simply and gorgeously decorated and tucked in the trees. (Right by the pool though, and you should know that in case you are seeking quiet time-- cute children may be occasionally having the time of their lives right outside your window). We also got to stay one night in the studio at Mirador and our minds were blown-- the pool right out front and the rooftop patio with hammock and lounge made us feel like the luckiest people in the world-- we even saw monkeys in the trees early one morning! Oh, and they have five darling, loyal dogs who you'll see around a lot. Heaven. Such sweethearts. Archie even accompanied us to our surfing lesson. Super cute.

Trent built all the homes and did so with artistry and love. These are dream houses. Only a five minute walk down to the beach (very strong waves), or you can rent an ATV and go a little further to other beautiful beaches and towns. Lots of great restaurants nearby-- our favorites are Las Piedras and Habanero. Especially Habanero--wonderful atmosphere and killer food. The roads in Santa Teresa and Mal Pais (and the surrounding area) are dusty and unpaved and the town is small and quaint, but lively. And if you're into that, it's magic.

It was a great vacation, from the weather, view, hospitality and the location it was perfection. I went with a big group of friends that also had never been to Costa Rica, chose this place from the reviews and our expectations were better than what we thought. The family was so friendly helpful and made our experience so nice. I felt safe staying at Casas de soleil. The town is so welcoming, everything is walking distance, when we wanted suggestions to restaurants, or adventures everyone was helpful to help us find what we wanted. I'm recommending this costs rica to everyone! Family, friends, or for a honeymoon! Thanks to Trey, family and staff, I can't wait to go back!

We arrived tired after a long trip that included three automotive segments and three flights.
Soraya and Trent have a great team working for them. Coqui works not stop on the grounds and was so helpful whether we needed a coconut chopped or needed help with the grill. Santos works hard at night to keep you safe, and the housekeeping team was always there the keep the place nice and tidy. The property is located a ten minute walk to the beach. There are many places to eat nearby.( One of the misconceptions I had regarding St. T's is that that town was compact....it really is a collection of hostels, hotels, and places to eat that run along a dusty, crowded road that runs parallel to the beach. Walking can be difficult and impossible at night to travel some of the distances required by foot.)
Soraya and Trent have many good recommendations. The houses are well equipped, beds and pillows comfortable. Casas de Soleil is worthy of the praise.
