It's not crowded; you’ll relax your mind and body, people are very friendly.
Wonderful soft sand, nicer than Playa Santa Teresa. Not very crowded in the off-season, had it pretty much to ourselves.
Beach was not over populated, had great waves for beginners and intermediate surfers, and was very clean. Definitely worth the taxi ride to get to!
This is a great beach for many reasons...very few tourists, great surf w/fewer rocks, best snorkeling spot in the Santa Teresa area, sea turtle hatching spot, tide pools for relaxing in the water w/o getting pounded by waves. Occasionally have beach parties here late at night or during full moon. Early in the morning, you're likely to be the only person in sight. This beach definitely lives up to its name (hermosa = beautiful)!
A nice spot to learn surfing as a beginner. Easy gentle crashing waves with a nice long beach at high tide. Instilled a lot of confidence without a lot of hardship. We rode waves to the beach on our first day out!
