“We did a mistake...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

Well....we arived to santa tersa after a long long drive. Tried to find hotel. Two places were full, the last of them point us to costa riki. He was very nice but we didnt liked the room, the bed wasn't convenient, there were no breakfast, one of the a/c made horrible noise. At the end, it's not worth the moeny (80$ a nigth).

Stayed to nights with Riki in his compound. The apartment was very clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. Even beach and bath towels which are apparently often not included in CR. The kitchen had everything we needed and the AC was spot on. The area outside with the hammock was also pretty good... The best thing is that the compound is 2 mins walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the closest supermarket for some cold cerveza and snacks. Very close also to all the good restaurants in Santa Teresa. Alma and Pronto are less than 5 minutes away. Our only complaint is that we felt the price was a little high so Riki looses one review star in the value for money category

We've traveled two couples and stayed at Costa Riki Apartments for two nights in April.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and spacious with lots of light. There was large living room and fully equipped kitchen, an A/C, towels, a porch with table and chairs to hang out and two large bedrooms with queen beds.
The apartment is located two minute walk from the beach, restaurants, supermarket, shops, surfing shops etc. One of the best restaurants, Alma, is located really close to the apartment. If you visit Santa Teresa don't dare skipping on Alma.
Riki was very helpful and hospitable. He welcomed us as we arrived and showed and explained us all we needed to know.
During our stay we had couple of blackouts in all Santa Teresa area, so I would recommend bringing flashlight.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Costa Riki Apartments for your stay in Santa Teresa!

My husband and I stayed for nearly a month in December 2013. We were initially going to stay for 2 weeks, but loved it so much we decided to extend. Francesca was absolutely lovely, helpful in every way and they live on the property so are there to help at a drop of a hat. The villas are spacious, new, clean, comfortable, with balcony, TV, hot showers and air con. Perfect. It's also located right about 5 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the Super Ronnies (The local supermarket) and other restaurants & bars. The villas are located within a gated complex, everything felt very secure & safe. We were working whilst we stayed there and we had no issues with the wifi the whole time we were there and we had some serious rain storms! Thank you for such an amazing stay! Would come back in a flash. Stacy & James.

I recently had the pleasure of spending 3 nights in Santa Teresa with my wife and son at Costa Riki upon the suggestion of a traveller. The town was longer than I had envisioned but soon discovered all the restaurants (Olam, Alma, Kika, Chicken Joe's, Ginger Cafe, the French Bakery) and surf shops (Al Chile, Kina, 360, Del Soul) I wanted to check out were within 5 mins walking distance and the beach access is just across the street! One day we strapped the baby in his snuggly and walked across town to Playa Carmen stopping part way at Habaneros for lunch, taking a taxi back.

Was nice to return from our walk to a refreshing swim in the family pool at Costa Riki. Our 2nd floor 1 bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable with all the amenities you would want, including a huge private terrace. The info book provided had a detailed map of Santa Teresa to get oriented. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We started each day with the best tarts, croissants and pain au chocolat in Costa Rica before I took off to the beach to surf the endless good waves (you can go at any time of day, regardless of the tide!).

We live in Jaco, so S.T. is a short trip by the Cocozuma boat (1 hour) and shuttle from Montezuma (35 mins) so you don't need a car! We'll be back as soon as possible!!!

Thanks Francesca and Riki!

What can we say we absolutely loved Costa Riki! From the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the best place in Santa Teresa. Francesca quickly greeted us and introduced us to the resident cats and dogs. Once inside our unit it was exactly as pictured on their website. We had a one bedroom unit on the second floor. The unit was a good size, new, had full amenities in the kitchen, air conditioning was much appreciated during sleeping hours, was clean and had a large deck where we ate all of our meals. Costa Riki is directly across the street from the trail/road to the beach and was less than a 5 minute walk to the ocean. The grocery store, yoga studio and many restaurants are within easy walking distance. The pool was in the shade and great for taking a refreshing dip...the ocean is very warm! The complex was very secure and we always felt safe. Thank you to Francesca and Riki for taking such pride in your property. We will be back and will recommend your place to all of our friends.

Our son was living in Santa Teresa and so he had the time to check out places and found the best place for our three week visit last Feb/Mar. He nailed it...I can't think anything even the most minor negative thing to say.. Really it was fantastic...

We stayed in a one bedroom on the second level. The place is new so modern and verrrrry clean. Plenty big plus a huge balcony. Well equipped kitchen.

Location is great, many resorts that I have stayed in the past were farther from beach the Costa Riki... a number of good restaurants close by.... (you'll get used to the dusty road in no time and it will add to the charm of the town). Super Rony 2 is a short walk and you can get pretty much anything you need there.

Riki and Francesca are awesome, helpful friendly and wiling do anything you need to make your holiday excellent. Great people...

And all that for a good price....

If you are going, I am envious of you, wish I could go back this winter...

Room Tip: Buy yourself a hammock on your first day and bring it to the beach every morning and have a great da...
