“Awsome place to stay, if you're in backpacking mood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

We stayed at this Hostel after having a nice experience at its sister hostel, Pura Vida mini hostel in Tamarindo.

It's a great place to stay if you're in a backpacking mood. It's cheap, dorms are fine but tight and there is plenty of places to hang out. The tenant, Andrew, was laid back and fun, but not a local, so no local knowledge. The pool was nice to have. It's a little dated though, and could use some freshening up.

Room Tip: In a group, get a room for a few extra bucks

Just stayed here and the people working there are very friendly and accommodating, close to the beach, close to the main town center, economical, pool table, tv lounge, pool, and clean rooms. The people staying here are very welcoming and I really enjoyed getting to know the travelers. It was very enjoyable and I will be back. :) What a lot of people don't realize is the hostel is under new ownership and the service is great and friendly.

The rooms are just ok, very hostel style. But the common area is very nice with the pool. Also the owners are super friendly ! Also close to everything you need !

I would recommend staying here if you don't expect rooms with much luxury.

been there, had a horrible expeiriance with the owners.
i tryed to help guarding the place while the owners were away, they gave me 1 towel for a whole month, gave me room so small, with no air condition and nothing ,they didnt clean my room and yelld at me to clean it, never gave me privecy, the place is in bad condition and at the end they treated me like s*#t when i had no money left and had to go (after i worked for them for a month and didnt got payd) they forced me to pay for the days ive worked, when i had no room servic and the hostel wasnt even in hosteling condition.

Good location for beach, restaurants & buses, rooms are clean & simple.
Shared areas are woody so take repellent - pool table, pool & plenty of chairs to kick back in.
Two wifi routers give good coverage (important to us)
The owners are super friendly & helpful

The place had good character and a nice chill area outside with a small pool and hammocks. We went during the low season, so we were the only guests there. The owners were friendly and played good music. As for the downside, bed linens were a bit sketchy and there wasn't any air conditioning--not that you really need it. It's a good place with good character, but definitely a hostel.
