We booked a "junior suite w/ jacuzzi, garden view, one queen bed" through Orbitz. I am not sure what kind of room we actually got, but there was no jacuzzi and we had two beds (Room 203). The beds were a touch too small for a slim couple, so I don't think they were queen beds. The room itself was large, musty smelling and a tad outdated. We did have bugs in our room; tiny ants, reddish ants and a small lizard. I am not sure this is avoidable given the location to nature, but we persevered.
Breakfast is impressive for free. The first morning we got to order off the menu and the next morning there was a full breakfast buffet with eggs made to order while you wait. Dinner was kind of lame and partly because no one was at the hotel and the dining room was empty. The menu was fine for two nights, but we would have driven elsewhere if staying longer. Dinner and drinks for two ran about $60. The best part of dining was viewing the wildlife on the pretty grounds. We saw a pair of skunks one night, bats too and the next night two raccoons practically walked under our table. You will breakfast with frisky birds, lizards and iguanas.
The pool is huge and has a swim-up bar and very friendly bar tender. There is a hot tub, but didn't use it. The beach has black sand and is kind of small. The beach and cove are pretty to look at, but neither gorgeous nor super inviting. We drove to Playa Flamingo and spent the day there (FYI gorgeous beach).
Overall, this was a pleasant place to stay and relax our last two nights in CR. The price was right ($287) and location perfect for getting to the airport, but has the feeling of being very remote. There is nothing around this hotel, so you will need a car to get off the property. We are not big "resort" people, but enjoyed for two days.
