My husband and I visited the resort for 8 days in July. We have stayed at a few other Four Seasons resorts and found this property to be just as we expected with very similar included amenities and consistent food and beverage pricing. After our arrival into Liberia we were picked up by Mainor at Tours your Way, I would highly recommend his service for transportation and any tours you may want to do while in Costa Rica! A very nice 30 minute ride and we were on the very beautiful and very lush Four Seasons grounds.
Stunning resort, very well laid out, everything very central while still offering a lot of places to get away into semi-seclusion. The restaurants were all centrally located with the lobby, gym, and pools very close by. We stayed in building 2 and thought it was great, the location was perfect, the rooms very spacious, beds very comfortable, and the rooms were relatively quiet. We had complimentary bottled water in the room replaced everyday.
The beaches were very different but offered great amenities, we took advantage of the Kayaks and a kayak tour to Monkey Head Island offered by the resort. The guys helping with the water activities were really wonderful to all of the guests. We also enjoyed the sunset activities on the beach where they have live music and drinks available at a slight discount.
We found the food at every single restaurant to be delicious, we are also "foodies" so we tend to like more upscale pairings and interesting items. If more simple things are your taste just let the restaurant know because they really can make you anything. We also found the prices to be very reasonable. For Example, Tico's - we loved it here great outdoor bar with delicious drinks and sushi, oh my god the sushi. Prices for cocktails were about $14/16 and wine $12 - 16. Sushi rolls around $18 - $20. They also had lighter appetizer items. We spent a few nights enjoying the view and the space. Another positive is that you can order off of the Ticos, Papaguyo, or Di Mare menu dinner OR lunch anytime you want as long as the restaurants are open. We also enjoyed Marea and Caracoal very much. We never tried Di Mare or Congo's for dinner (we did do Congo's for lunch and thought it was excellent). Lunch by the pool was always very promptly delivered and extremely good.
We both had really great massages here so of course I'm going to recommend going in for a treat!!! The facilities were also great with plunge pools and a sauna you can use at any time.
Overall we really enjoyed our time here and felt that even without leaving the resort for 8 days we had plenty to do. We took part in some of the hikes, kayak tours, and the trail of giants tour which was great - be sure to ask for the weeks activity program when you get there and book everything early! We also had great weather with only 1 full day of gloomy rain the entire week, with a brief rain on 1/2 of the day we arrived. We spent a lot of time at the quiet pool and loved that the stations each provided flavored water, sunscreen, bug spray, and cool face mist.
The staff was amazing, unobtrusive but always watching to see if the guests needed anything, and were very attentive. I got the feeling that the culture moves much slower and leisurely than some of us, but it was a welcome change of pace!!
2303 was great!

Dear Andrea, great review and thank you for all of the wonderful details which help us serve our guests even better!!! Thank you for taking the time to do so. I am happy you had a wonderful stay and you could enjoy the Pura Vida culture, which indeed moves slower, so you can totally relax! Regards, Pascal Forotti, General Manager.
