“Bestrips Exceeded our Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

We are a family of 4 adults on a one week vacation and wanted to book our tours & transfers prior to our arrival. There were several tour companies to choose from with positive reviews, but we decided to go with Bestrips because we liked the way they communicated via email. Other tour companies responded quickly, but many of them just copied and pasted their tour information from their website into their emails and really didn’t read our questions or concerns. However, Ariel at Bestrips always answered our questions and concerns thoroughly and in a timely manner. They are very organized and competitive with their prices (maybe even a bit lower than the other tour companies).

We booked 2 airport transfers and 2 tours. Ariel was our tour guide for everything we booked. He’s very friendly, professional, spoke English well, and was truly concerned about making sure we had the best vacation ever! We always had a private van and never shared a ride with anyone. He educated us with interesting facts about Costa Rica and we enjoyed our time with him very much.

We first met him on our 4 hour drive from the San Jose Airport to the Hilton Papagayo. He’s an excellent driver and never made us nervous. It wasn’t a problem to make stops along the way (bathroom, grocery store, Pharmacy, ATMs).

Our first tour was the White Water Rafting Class III & IV Tour on the Tenorio River. Some of us were a bit nervous about the “adrenaline” pumping, but it was fine. Maybe a different time of year the river might be scarier? The Tenorio River was not wide at all. In fact, it was quite narrow and hard to believe our raft could make it through some parts of it! The rafting on the river was about 2.5 hours. The joke from the rafting guides was that the river was Class III & IV, but the road you need to take with the rafts to get there and back was a Class V. That was a thrill in itself! However, the driver was excellent and had no problem maneuvering on the dirt roads to/from the river. After rafting the package included a delicious lunch with your choice of fish, chicken or beef.

Our second tour was the Mega Combo Borinquen, but since we are not fans of riding horses, we asked if we could ride ATVs instead. Ariel created a tour that fit our preferences. If there’s something you’d like to do or not do, just ask. They are very accommodating and will create a tour that works for you. We rode ATVs for 2 hours on some challenging but fun trails. We made 2 stops at 2 different waterfalls. One of the waterfalls had a natural waterslide next to it if you wanted to take a dip into the cold water below. We saw amazing butterflies on the ride, so make sure you bring your camera! Afterwards, not far from the ATV area, we rode 10 zip line cables that took about 1.5 hours. Then we enjoyed a Steam Sauna, Volcanic Mud Bath and Natural Hot Springs. This package also included a traditional Costa Rican Buffet Lunch that was excellent.

When we were checking out of our hotel, we had Ariel drive us from our hotel to the Liberia Airport (about a 20 minute ride). The cost of the ride to the airport was lower with Bestrips than a cab. And by now, it felt like Ariel was part of the family!

Do not hesitate to book Bestrips for all of your tour and/or transfer needs. It truly added to our fantastic Costa Rican experience!

“Fun and informational!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

We took the Guacheplin adventure tour through costaricabestrips. I set this up prior to our arrival in Costa Rica. Wonderful experience! Our tour guide JC told us a lot about the country on our ride to the site. It was very interesting and informational. This was by far the most favorite day of the trip! The tour included zip lining, rock climbing, rappelling, Tarzan swing, white water tubing(most fun and relaxing!), horseback riding, hot bath, and lunch!!! JC took our cameras and
Got tons of pics of us on the tour so we didn't have to worry about it ourselves! He also let us stop at the grocery store in Liberia to get beverages and snacks for the hotel. I highly recommend this company! We also used this company to get from out hotel to cocoa beach for a few hours, and as a transfer from the airport to the hotel. MUCH cheaper than the hotel cab service!!

“Bestrips are the best in Costa Rica”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

Ariel and his team are extremely pleasant to deal with very professional and not pricey. They not only provided me with transportation to and from the hotel but we went on an amazing day trip that really showed us Costa Rica from the inside. I highly recommend Bestrips.

“Thomas T.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

We took three tours durning our five night stay in Costa Rica. The first was a rain forest/volcano tour with Marco. The hot springs were great and Marco was very nice. The tour was from 07:30 AM to 08:30 PM because of the distance you have to travel to get to the Arenel volcano and back.

The second tour was the Borinquen Resort and Spa. This tour was outstanding! Our tour guide was JC and he is the BEST. We started out with horse backing riding up to where we did the zip lines. The horses were well behaved and JC pointed out many interesting sights. Anyone can do the zip lines so don't be afraid. There were 13 zip lines and they were all great. After lunch we did the mud bath and hot springs.

Our third tour was white water rafting class III and IV. This tour was a real adventure. It took about one and half hours to get to the tour office and then about one hour to get to the river. The last part of the ride is on a very bumpy dirt road so be ready for this. The guides were great and we had about six rafts in our group. The river is very low now so there are a lot of rocks. The rafting lasts about three hours and there are two really great drops. This tour was our second most favorite and I recommend it highly.

One last note. If you pay by credit card Ariel wants an extra 5% to off set what he has to pay the credit card company.

“Great trip”

Ariel was easy to contact, always responding immediately thru emails. Our guide, Alex was awesome. So glad we chose the Borinquen Trip which included zipline, ATV and mud bath. Don't hesitate to book with Ariel and be sure to ask for Alex if he is available.
