“What does the Future Hold……?!?!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

A bit of a long review to follow, so let me say at the onset….Hotel Le Toiny is a special and spectacular place. Second time visit to the island but first time visit to Le Toiny. My wife and I are sitting on our private porch by the pool looking out at a breath-taking view of the unspoiled mountain dissolving into the caribbean ocean. It reminds us of Kauai Hawaii where part of the island is lush tropical terrain and the other raw, desert-like rock and mountains. We could stay another week…..easily. The seclusion, quietness with just the sounds of the ocean and the incredible views is enough for us! You can just barely see the dots of little goats walking along the mountain-side. Watching the Les Volles De St Barth race was spectacular!

So, the title of my review……'What does the Future Hold ?!' Well, that's what I'm waiting for!
As I said, the hotel and property are phenomenal as is the private villas and pools. Beautifully done. But, there is so much more potential at this hideaway.

Apparently the hotel welcomed new owners in the beginning of the year. With them came new management of the hotel, specifically Luc Lanza from Eden Rock. Luc mentioned to me the future investment plans for the hotel. Pretty exciting. By the way, Luc knows how to run a resort like Le Toiny - he's an 'operator' as we say in the business - great image to the hotel, great customer touch, and smooth operations. I like his morning staff meeting on the deck - nice!
So, I'm betting on the Le Toiny team and take this beautiful resort to the next level. The beach on the property is special. Beautiful view, calm waters, incredible potential. Say farewell to the shipwreck on the beach and start renovating! Build a beautiful restaurant down near the water for breakfast, lunch, whatever! What a setting !

Thanks again for an incredible time. We will be watching progress and most definitely will be returning!!

Well done to all !
Michael

In the calm and more desert side of the island there is this joy! Nice villas with private plunge pool, nice view from the mountain to the beach. Top quality restaurant as well.
International staff and presence of owners all the time, very cozy atmosphere.

Dear GuiEskos,

Thank-you very much for taking the time to submit a review of your stay here at Hotel Le Toiny St Barth.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your villa, the restaurant, and the peacefulness of our resort during your stay.

We particularly liked your comment "Nice villas with private plunge pool, nice view from the mountain to the beach."

This is the essence of what we provide our guests - a luxuriously private stay with beautiful tropical views in a warm and friendly five-star resort atmosphere.

Thank-you for choosing Hotel Le Toiny and we look forward to your return to St. Barthelemy!

Kind regards

Andrew Forson

All aspects of Hotel Le Toiny are as close to perfection as can be possible.

The driver was waiting at the airport and made the end of a day of travel painless. Cool bottles of water were ready in the car for the short trip to the resort. Upon arrival, rather than extending the day by filling out paperwork, we were quickly greeted by Luc and Maria without having to leave the car and then driven directly to our villa. This seems like a small item, but it was a great way to arrive and much appreciated after a long day of travel.

As this was our second trip to Le Toiny and 3rd to St. Barths, we had some expectations and a few favorite places to visit. The team assisted us with reservations and made recommendations of new restaurants. All were done quickly and flawlessly.

The villa was in top shape. We have now stayed at two different villas and both were equally wonderful. The view of the ocean, the mountains, and the distant islands is outstanding and in our minds- unrivaled anywhere in the world. The private pool is spotlessly cleaned daily and very secluded. Not once in 5 days did we hear other guests or hotel noise. Le Toiny is the perfect place to relax in luxury.

Le Gaiac (the on site restaurant) remains our favorite on the island, and we have had several meals there each of the last three years. The quality and presentation of the meals are exquisite, and the team is professional and friendly. At lunch, there is the fantastic view to add a course of "breathtaking" to the food, while at night the mood is perfectly relaxing and casually elegant.

We would also like to compliment Luc and his team. From his initial greeting, to meeting him around the property, he consistently displayed a warm greeting and obvious enthusiasm for the resort today and the improvements planned for the future. Le Toiny gets all the big things right and it is blessed with a unique location, but it also has perfected a myriad of small things that separate it from ordinary luxury. Congratulations to all the team.

Overall, Le Toiny is located in a quieter part of St. Barth's and along a wonderful coast. Yet, as with all of the island, it is just a few minutes to towns or beaches. We find the location to be a perfect mix of quiet seclusion, intimacy , and convenience.

As the best recommendation we can provide, we are looking forward to our next visit!

Jane and I went with our American friends Larry and Katt...what a wonderful choice Le Toiny was.
Just 14 private villas, all with pools, and loads of room and privacy. It was serene...we visited many of the other hotels on the Island, where life seemed more hectic. Restaurant and bar had the perfect view, great chef, and the Sunday brunch is recognised as the best on the Island.
Plenty of opportunity for walks, and the crew at the Hotel could organise anything. We got reservations at every restaurant we wanted to go to, and each had something special and memorable about them. Totally recommend and would certainly return.

Room Tip: We were in No 2 and can recommend it.

Dear fraserview702,

Thank-you for choosing Hotel Le Toiny for your St Barth vacation.

Your review is a pleasant one and we are very appreciative! We are most pleased that you enjoyed your stay and had the opportunity to dine at our Restaurant Le Gaiac and experience the walking trails on resort.

As you remark, Hotel Le Toiny is known for privacy, its expansive ocean views, and being secluded whilst just a few minutes from Gustavia and St Jean.

We also want to highlight this statement you made in your review: "Plenty of opportunity for walks, and the crew at the Hotel could organise anything. We got reservations at every restaurant we wanted to go to..."

Our team is here to provide the highest level of service and ensure your satisfaction - they will be pleased to know of your thoughts on their service levels.

Thank-you for taking the time to write about your stay. Thank-you for choosing Le Toiny. We look forward to your return.

Kind regards,

Andrew

This past December 2014 was my 2nd trip to Le Toiny and I can say once again, from my arrival to my departure, you are treated with the utmost care, respect and made to feel 100% comfortable!! The service was impeccable from all aspects...the GM's and concierge/wait staff, etc are top shelf!! The villa, as always, is a residence for a most relaxing stay...The mini frig is always stocked as well as top brand liquors/wine should you want...The spa service and food are excellent...the private pool and view from your villa are unforgettable...my one complaint as 2 years ago was the inordinate amount of mosquitos...BUT...i am not sure any hotel on the island has more or less!!..Le Toiny is a terrific hotel for couples!
Enjoy!

Room Tip: any villa is beautiful

Dear Rudy D,

Thank-you for your fantastic review of you stay here at Hotel Le Toiny. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and are particularly happy with your mention of satisfaction with all levels of staff.

Of course it was our pleasure having you and we do work very hard to make our hotel perfect for couples.

And regarding the mosquitoes ... they certainly are a nuisance island wide. That said, we take as many precautions as we can by spraying regularly and working through a detailed mosquito elimination programme. We also make available to all guests mosquito repellent. Hopefully in time the situation improves!

We do look forward to your return and you can rest assured we will try to improve in all areas. We love return visitors - you are family. Thank-you for taking the time to share your positive experiences with the TripAdvisor community.

Kind regards,

Guy & Dagmar Lombard

Le Toiny was beautiful. The private villas with the pools were fantastic and just what we needed. The food and service were exceptional! The view from Restaurant Le Gaiac in Le Toiny is something you will never forget. I also highly recommend going to the Le Toiny spa, it was so relaxing and the technicians were wonderful. My husband and I got a massage and a facial and both were phenomenal!!!

Dear Anitha N,

Happy New Year! Thank-you so much for spending time with us during this holiday season. We are particularly appreciative of your wonderful review. Having your stay with us described as "Amazing" and "exceptional" is the best gift we could receive at this time of year! Many thanks!

Of particular note is your mention of the spa - somewhat of a hidden gem of our resort. We are grateful of your taking the time to mention your (and your husband's) enjoyment of the treatments there. The technicians will be particularly pleased to hear of your positive feedback.

You were wonderful guests and we are so very pleased we were able to make your stay an enjoyable one. We genuinely look forward to your return!

Thank-you sincerely and we wish you all the best in 2015!

It was my first time at this Relais & Chateaux property. It is located in the most secluded part of the island what impressed me the most of the location is the night sky visible from the property it is absolutely amazing, only possible because there are few lights nearby together with the sound of the waves clashing in the distance against the rocks makes for an extraordinary experience.
The rooms are ample with individual swimming pools. I stayed at one of the largest suites or should I say villa, the decor was sober but impeccable and the bathroom in full marble. Service is top notch as expected in such a property. The only thing that could be improved is the reception area which is basically the hotel's gift shop. Such a grand property should have a dedicated reception area... but then again space in St. Barth is precious.

Room Tip: The grand villas are breathtaking

Dear MrEZTraveler,

We are so pleased that you made the decision to stay with us here at Hotel Le Toiny St Barth for the first time. We do agree that the night sky and the crashing of the Caribbean waves at Toiny Beach is a special thing to experience. It is wonderful of you to write of these in your review.

Our La Villa is a wonderful luxury vacation villa here on the resort and we are very happy that you enjoyed your accommodation and stay there. You mention the top notch service - well this is something we pride ourselves in and thanks to comments like yours we will continuously seek to improve our current 5-star service level offering.

It is obvious you have become quite familiar with St Barth - indeed space is at a premium so we try our best to make our main house a warm and welcoming environment with an unobtrusive but well appointed luxury boutique, business, and reading area with expansive views of our infinity edge pool which overlooks the Caribbean Sea.

We thank-you very much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review and of course are looking forward to your return!

Best regards,

Guy & Dagmar Lombard
