“Very private and lovely.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My daughter and I spent two nights in June at Le Toiny. Our Villa Suite was very relaxing and private. Service was great. The private pool was exceptional, we were hanging out in the pool late at night the water was so warm and soothing. I enjoyed lying in the hammock reading. Breakfast was laid out by the pool for us in the mornings when we woke up. The villa was very spacious and well laid out.

Room Tip: Our room was located just behind the reception area but still very private.

We spent our honeymoon at Le Toiny. The hotel sits at the tip of the island on top of a promontory. From our villa, we had a gorgeous view of the natural flora of the island and the ocean. The villa was spacious and well appointed with a patio and private pool. We were searching for something private and elegant with luxurious accommodations and were not disappointed.

As part of our package, an American breakfast was elegantly served daily on our private patio overlooking our pool. Our package also included the rental of a smart car to explore the island's beaches.

Its Le Gaiac restaurant employs an outstanding chef and pastry chef who provided us with gourmet meals at dinner.

The hotel's service was impeccable. They employ staff who are multi-lingual, energetic, and well trained in the art of providing excellent customer service.

Le Toiny is a small, private, luxury, boutique hotel. We were looking for something special on St. Barths and we found it here.

We hope to be back to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary in 2015.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room.

Dear Charles P,

Congratulations on your wedding and thank-you for choosing to spend your honeymoon at Hotel Le Toiny St Barth!

What a wonderful review of our hotel, your breakfast, Restaurant Le Gaiac ... we especially love and appreciate your comment about there not being a bad room at the hotel. We've worked very hard to ensure that whilst each of our 15 private ocean-view villa suites have their own unique character, they are all developed to the highest 5-star standards.

St Barth is a magical place and we are always particularly pleased when we can be a part of a memorable first visit - especially when that first visit is as precious as a honeymoon.

Thank-you very much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review - one that will most definitely be helpful to future guests of our hotel.

We are also very happy to hear that you intend to return for your 1 year anniversary next year - we will be sure to make your return a special one.

Congratulations and all the best wishes for many happy years of marriage,

Guy and Dagmar Lombard,
General Managers

My wife and I just completed a wonderful stay at Le Toiny. Everything was perfect - the villa suite was large and private with a great ocean view and pool. The service from the moment we were met at the airport throughout the entire stay was excellent. The food is superb. Le Toiny is first class without being too formal - it was so nice we extended our visit. Thank you very much.

Room Tip: We stayed in Suite 7 which was very nice and private.

Dear GlobalWarrior29,

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us here at Hotel Le Toiny so much that you extended your stay. We are also particularly appreciative of the wonderful review and rating you have given us here on TripAdvisor.

One of the things of note in your review was your statement that "Le Toiny is first class without being too formal". We work hard to engender that feel in all we do without compromising our 5-Star standards, Relais & Chateaux association, or luxury customer experience.

Thank-you so much for your visit - it would be our pleasure to welcome you back to St. Barth and Hotel Le Toiny again in the near future.

Kind regards,

Guy and Dagmar Lombard,

We have been huge fans of Le Toiny for years but two years ago we waited to long to make reservations, they were booked, so we went to another luxury property on St. Barths. It was very nice but all you need to know is we wanted to go back to our favorite spot--Le Toiny. Our stay last week was as good as it gets. Dagmar and the rest of the crew have found a wonderful mix of being there if needed or disappearing if that's what you want. The setting is post card material and sitting on the ledge of your pool, watching the butterflies, goats on the mountains, and the blue waters--it just can't get much better, Le Toiny is a little further out than most of the other high end places but the extra 5 minutes gives you great chances to see other parts of the Island. Sit at your pool, hike the mountain path, get room service, in-room massages, be lazy and do you want to do. So, Le Toiny is a place where you can really do what you want to do and enjoy it all, without even leaving the villa. Again, thank you for another wonderful stay. See you next year,

Dear Mark G,

Every so often one of our guests writes a review or posts a comment that captures the essence of who we are and what we are trying to do. You have done just that - I'm certain our marketing department will be borrowing from your statements for their next campaigns!

Hotel Le Toiny loves to cater to the repeat high-end guest who seeks a private, relaxing, chic, experience, that is never forced - you dictate the pace of your vacation.

This approach, our hotel's design, and the location all work together to let the guest be free, relaxed, and alone when they want to be - whilst also ensuring you have every 5-star and tropical amenity at your disposal when you request it.

Thank-you for this wonderful review - you can rest assured that if it were not for the fact that we are a 15 villa suite hotel we would love to always keep a spot reserved for you during your visits to St Barth so you wouldn't have to "cheat" again.

And as a frequent return guest, we are particularly grateful that our offering continues to bring you pleasure.

It goes without saying, but must be said nonetheless, that we genuinely appreciate your patronage and look forward to your return in the hopefully not too distant future.

As we French like to say, "a bientot" - see you soon.

With warmest regards,

Guy and Dagmar Lombard,
General Manager

Dear JNiedrau,

Thank-you for taking the time to write us such a glowing review. We are in the service business so in many ways it is our "duty" to work hard to ensure that you, our guest, have an unforgettably positive experience.

With guests like you, that "duty" becomes a pleasure! We are very grateful that you chose to spend your vacation time with us here at Hotel Le Toiny - from a marketing perspective what can be better than having a satisfied guest describe your hotel as "Paradise" on TripAdvisor?

I will ensure to pass along your commendations to the Front Desk team and in addition I want to take extra time to mention how pleased we are with your comments about our Sunday Brunch and your villa suite.

We hope you had a safe and uneventful trip home and look forward to your return to St Barth and Hotel Le Toiny.

Thank-you very much,

With warm regards,

Dagmar Lombard,

We agree with the previous reviewers, this hotel is truly a gem. We stayed at Villa 12 which has a great patio, private pool and huge room & living room. The privacy and the views are marvelous and we enjoyed how well equipped everything was. From the beach chairs, the sun umbrella, the beach towels (many!), to the snorkeling equipment they provide complimentary to guests. evidently they have thought of everything. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed. We enjoyed great breakfasts and dined at their "Tuesday fish market" a total must! My husband also liked the Sonos surround system, they do think of everything...Thank you Dagmar and Guy Lombard and your very nice team, we had a a very relaxing and perfect stay!

Room Tip: We loved our Villa 12, but Heard that all of the romos are nice and they are always refurbishing and...

Who am I kidding? Everything is expensive in St. Barth, akin to prices in Paris, so this vacation destination isn't for the faint of heart. (To give you an idea of how expensive, I paid $27 for a gallon of organic milk and a croissant at a little market near the St. Jean area last month). Le Toiny is gorgeous, the grounds are maintained meticulously, the landscaping lush, and the staff is kind and helpful.

Do not miss their special brunch!! I forget if they have it on Saturdays or Sundays, but it was the most gorgeous spread (not in terms of size, but curated for the most discriminating foodie) I've ever seen. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, eat at their restaurant. Their white truffle pasta (winter delicacy) is top-notch and mixed in a giant parmesan gourd.

I stayed at Le Toiny with my mom and sister, but the hotel is far more suited for honeymooning couples. Very romantic and not a screaming child in sight!

Enjoy!

Room Tip: If you want privacy, make sure you choose a suite with a private plunge pool.
