My partner and I was over there for the Easter break. the view and jetty was picture perfect. The staff was absolutely wonderful, Jon was always taking care of us during our lunch and dinner there. we stayed in the pool plunge rooms very nice, we could just walk out and go swimming. On our last night, we had dinner at the jetty it was very romantic. the rooms are good size very comfortable, loved the bathrooms. Would definitely go there again and highly recommended ... the food was great as well. loved the havannah bombalastic dessert! the best!

My husband and I stayed for 7 nights over Easter. We arrived stressed and left on cloud nine. It is the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. There are no children here, so it is very quiet - great for an afternoon nap. We stayed in a Lagoon Villa where you take 5 steps and you are in your pool. The pool is shared by a total of 5 bungalows and you never saw more than 2 couples in the pool at one time. This pool over looks the main pool where there is a bar. Each bungalow has 2 lounges, a table, sun bed and surrounded by gardens. Each bungalow has great views of the ocean, a view to die for. The rooms are great with fans, air-conditioning, the bed is very comfortable and bathrooms are roomy and so are the rooms. We had breakfast included in our price which consisted of pastries, fruit juice, fruit, cereals, eggs anyway you like, tea and coffee. Excellent breakfast. As the resort is about a 20-25 minutes drive from the airport, there is only 1 restaurant down the road. We never ate there, always ate at the resort. The meals were exceptional. Tyron (chef) presents the food beautifully and it tastes great too. Prices are comparable to any restaurant in town and in Melbourne, so you know you are not getting ripped off. The staff - AMAZING - Betty, Jon, Jonathon, Anita, Tyron, Jerry just to name a few. Nothing was an effort for these people. The resort managers - Tish & Owen never stop. They are amazing hosts, anything to please a guest and they always go that extra mile. I cannot recommend The Havannah high enough. Do yourself a favour and go. We are going to go back, but this time take our friends. A very special thanks to Tish - you made our holiday so special and Jonathon & Anita - what lovely people you are, kind, courteous and funny....keep up the good work

PROS:
- Great complimentary breakfast in our package. Homemade bread, yummy fruit salad. The tropical fruits are sweet and succulent.
- Staff are very friendly and try to be helpful. They probably need more training, and experience, but you can see that they have been trying their best.
- Spacious bathrooms. Ever been to a place where you don't get enough space to hang your towels and dry your swimmers? Not in this one. Lots of space to move around in.
- Kids-free. No kids jumping into the pool or having a hissy fit during dinner time.
- Tish, the Manager had recommended Tranquility diving and she was spot on, it was great diving with them. (It's the island just in front of The Havannah)

CONS:
- It's about a 40 mins drive to Port Villa. To go there, there are 2 free shuttle buses per day (10am and 4pm). So if you want to pop into town to have dinner, you have to take a taxi. The resort's taxi driver has better rates (25AUD one way, which makes 50 AUD both ways, just to go to town to have different dinner). The Havannah's location is both a good and bad thing. It's in a beautiful secluded area. But it's also a bit of a hassle if you want to get around the island.
- For a 4/5 star resort, you'd expect to get decent food. Here, it's overpriced - about 30 AUD for a main (due to absence of competition in the area) and below standard. We ordered seafood with pasta on 2 occasions and on both times, the seafood was overcooked. The chocolate souffle didn't taste fresh, and was very dry. Basically, above average prices for below average food.
- On our last day, we wanted to discover more about the island, it's history, culture and so on. One of the staff recommended a tour by Moses (150 AUD for 2 people + extras for visiting any beach/tourist site). We thought this would be by a professional guide. We were told that it would take a 'whole day' so we had planned the last stop to be in the city where we would have dinner. Moses ended up driving with no commentary, not answering our questions, stopping here and there to buy snacks for himself, and we had to coerce him to take us to Port Villa to show us around a bit. He said: 'this is ANZ bank', 'this is Westpac', 'this is a Toyota dealership' when he went past these locations, I kid you not. Nothing on Vanuatu, just where the bank was. He even had the audacity to ask us if we liked his tour, which he cut short by half because he had to pick up some mates. We ended up back at the resort just after lunch and cancelled our dinner plans. My advice is, beware of staff advice, you might assume they know their tours, but take it with a pinch of salt. The plus side of the whole incident was that we could come back to a beautiful resort to relax by the pool.
- Not enough lighting along the paths at night. Perhaps this is to deter the bugs or to save energy. But a little more lighting would help.

Overall, a great resort to stay and relax in.
It still has alot of potential to improve, staff wise and restaurant wise. Doesn't have that 4/5 star standard just yet.
And despite the negatives, we would definitely go back to The Havannah, I am sure it is one of the better resorts on the island, you do get your personal space - something which you don't always get in the more crowded resorts.

We stayed for 3 days at the Havannah. We had a fantastic time there. The staff are truly excellent! They were friendly, accommodating and professional. Everyone single one of them smiled when we met them and each made us feel so welcome. I cannot say enough good things about the them. The managers were efficient, welcoming and professional the staff upbeat and friendly. The famous Vanuatu smiles were in abundance here! Several times individuals went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. This included getting homemade Laplap (spelling?) from the village across the bay from one staff member's mother to arranging boat transport for turtle watching.
The location is spectacular-- the bay gorgeous, the corals interesting, the water crystal clear. The rooms were beautiful, spotless-- and very well appointed. We miss the Havannah and hope to visit again soon. Thank you to the staff and to the management at the Havannah for giving us such a amazing vacation!

Room Tip: Try for one of the original villas on the water.

We stayed at The Havannah for 7 nights for our Honeymoon, it was paradise! An absolutely stunning place, that is well appointed, in a beautiful location, with amazing food in the restaurant & well designed villas overlooking the ocean. The staff are very friendly & nothing is ever too much trouble. We ate dinner one night on the jetty which was very romantic and also one night on the beach, this was great but unfortunate that there was another couple that were very drunk also dining on the beach that night. They came across to be very rude to the staff and the gentleman was incredibly inconsiderate, especially when he started singing at the top of his voice & yelling rudely at the staff. When we mentioned this to Management they were most apologetic and handled it very well. We are definitely looking forward to returning to paradise one day.
