“A wonderful English pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Fantastic garden, lovely old pub in beautiful English countryside, excellent food, good beer and wine. Sat in the garden on a lovely summers day what more could you want. Friendly service, everything made for a great lunch.

“Excellent quality food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

The Duke of Cumberland is a beautiful pub in a lovely setting, with views over distant hills. The garden, with several tasteful ponds, is wonderful in good weather. The food is of very high quality.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

This a wonderful old English Pub situated in outstanding gardens with great views. The dishes were well presented and delicious. Staff were considerate and attentive, although a bit forgetful at times! Having said this, the overall experience was very good and I will definitely return again. It is worth arriving early to enjoy aperitifs in the garden.

“Amazing Food & Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

We've visited here three times since moving to the area, twice to eat and once for drinks with friends. The food is absolutely amazing and we will certainly be back. The balcony/decking area has lovely views and the front garden is relaxing to sit in listening to the trickle of the stream running through it. Recommended!

“Lovely gastro pub in perfect 'Real English' surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

A beautifully located, well appointed old English pub with modern extension to house the growing number of people who come here. As a group of four, we were seated in the modern restaurant area that's well appointed though lacks the real character of the bar area and original fittings.
We ate from the a la carte menu and this had an excellent variety of choices, from scallops and squid through to pulled pork pancakes and baked soft cheese for starters. All well portioned and hearty. The main courses we had were a couple of fish dishes - plaice and bream - and then Sunday roasts. The pork belly was very well cooked...

With a nice day outside, the view and gardens are extremely nice too. Would certainly return when next in the area.
