Some of the exhibits were in dire need of a revamp. For the admission price you didn't get much. A local told us not to bother and we should have listened. Such a shame because could really highlight a bit NZ for tourists. Seeing the kiwis up close, actually running around was great and chatting to the keeper was a highlight. But overall we left feeling a bit ripped off.

Hi there, we were very sorry to hear that your visit didn`t live up to your expectations. The Kiwi House is currently undergoing the final preparations for a major revamp, which is an endorsement of your comment that the park needs some attention. We are all very exctied and confident that the Otorohanga Kiwi House will not only be able to continue to be at the forefront of conservation but will do so from a modern facility that reflects this great work. Being a not for profit organisation that receives no government or council funding we have worked hard to get the funding together for the revamp. The Kiwi viewing experience is and always will be worldclass glad you enjoyed it and especially having a chance to chat to one of our great staff. I would encourage you to contact me at the Kiwi House if you require any extra information. Otherwise we all look forward to welcoming you back to the Kiwi House to experience Dusk to Dawn, and the other planned developments.
