“Great value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

This cute little hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway. We booked a standard room which came with a king size bed, ceiling fan, air conditioning, bathroom equipped with towels and complimentary soaps/shampoo sachets. For us it was the perfect location, a 10 metre walk to the beach and 3 blocks to the town centre. It's also right next to Tribu hostel so you can wander in their joint for an evening drink if you want to meet other travellers! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you hotelito Chuuk Kay!

Our stay at this hotel was arranged by Rodrigo at Holbox Whaleshark Tours. The hotel is located in town a few blocks from the beach, about 5 minute walk to closest restaurant, and about 15 minute walk to Holbox Whaleshark Tours. We would have chosen to stay on the beach for a bit more money next time at one of the B&B's. Quiet strong AC, coffee pot with poor quality coffee in single pack - better to bring your own coffee and filters, only 2 small bottles of water provided per day - not nearly enough so you will have to ask for more or buy more, regrigerator in room, free wifi but the front desk does not provide the code unless you ask, good beds supportive and not too hard by Mexico standards where beds are usually too hard, decor is fine, safe in room, but no directions in english provided!!!, flat screen tv has only 1 english channel - the weather channel. No phone in room - so unless you have a working cell phone - could be a problem in an emergency. Simple but tasteful decor, overhead fan over beds. Front desk personnel are nice and try to be helpful, but they leave around 10 pm and do not provide info on what to do in emergency. Front desk personnel speak limited English. One of our friend's shower had no hot water and handle fell off and water was shooting all over the room. After much effort talking to several other guests, we found someone at this very small hotel who contacted another who finally showed up with some tools to put the handle back on but they did not call a proper plumber the next day until the handle fell off again!! The hotel housekeeper lives in a small shack at the back of the hotel, but no one informed us of this and we only found out later. One member of our group complained of noise from the generator at night which was located close to her room and could not get wifi in her room. Recommend you ask for a room close to the front of the hotel if you want wifi in your room.

We were delighted that we stayed at the Hotelito Chuuk Kay. It is close to the restaurants and shops of the town square. The beach is less than one block away. We had air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a coffee pot. The rooms are clean, bright, pleasant, new, and comfortable. The staff is helpful.

When we booked our trip to Holbox, it was difficult to figure out the best place for us to stay. Roddrigo of Whale Shark Tours, put us at the Chuuk Kay. This was the best place for our group.

My only complaint was the the Wi Fi internet does not reach all of the rooms. My daughter had great internet in her room. We had to take our iPad into her room, the lounge or the hotel desk area to get reception.
