“Stayed Here as an Alternative to Niagara Falls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton as an alternative to staying right at Niagara Falls. Here's my feedback:

- Costs less than staying at Niagara Falls and it's close drive to the Falls.
- Must have a car to drive to restaurants (lost of restaurants witin 10 minutes).
- Hotel is dated but it was clean.
- Rooms are large.
- Hotel front desk staff are friendly
- Had breakfast at the restaurant was just okay food wise and the service was very slow. I wouldn't eat there again.
- Nothing to do in walking distance from the hotel.

We stayed there for 4 nights. Our suite was spacious and very nice.

Pro: coffee machine and fridge in the kitchenette, washing machine!, nice spa and gym area

Con: it was not possible to switch of the fan in the bathroom, which was running the whole day and night. With the sleeping room besides the bathroom it was not too loud, but you had this sound the whole night....
On the 4th floor the rooms have the windows in the roof, but without any sun-blinds. So early in the morning you wake up because of the light.

Nevertheless: we can recommend this hotel, also for families.

After reading some of the not so great reviews of this hotel, I decided that, what happened in 2009 should stay in 2009. Was I wrong!! It appears that the furninshings that were old and worn out back then are still there!!! Management continues to say a renovation is forth coming but when?? Likely a way to pacify any bad reviews. The place is a cleverly disguised dump. Drive the extra 10 minutes and stay at something worth $150/night or bring bug spray.

Stayed at this hotel Aug 24-24, 2012 with my daughter's softball team, participating at the 2012 PWSA Provincials. The hotel was less than 10 minutes from diamonds, staff was extremely accommodating proving us with directions to the diamonds. Very friendly staff, extremely spacious rooms and overall an excellent experience. Totally recommend this hotel! Had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious.
Thank you Four Points for making our team feel so welcome and for the amazing service.

Regards,
Teresa P Gomes

My stay at this hotel was from August 19-23. I was attending a week long photography workshop at Brock University which is a 7 min walk from this hotel. I had a corner King suite. It was spacious and lots of windows. I didn't have time to try the spa services but did eat at the hotel a few times. The breakfast was great and lots of options on the menu. The supper menu was quite reasonable and again there were many options if you wanted a salad it was available as well the chicken, beef and fish. All in all my stay was smooth and whatever I ask for the front desk was only too happy to help.

Room Tip: I believe the corner suites are the best choice if you want sunny rooms.

We recently visited Niagra Falls and stayed at this hotel. Granted it is about 15 minutes from the Falls, and we were not expecting to be so far away, but it was fine! We stayed downtown all day and returned to the hotel when we were finished for the day. The hospitality was nice and the cleanliness and staff were spot on! We did eat breakfast in the restaurant and the food was ok.

Stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton St Catharines during the 130th Canadian Henley. The front desk was very friendly but their hands are a bit tied because the hotel is so old. The carpeting in the hallway is worn bare in spots. The pull out couch cushions are dirty and faded. The pullout mattress in sagging, thin and worn out. All the counter tops are Formica. Microwave and TV are circa 1990. THERE ARE NO FLAT SCREEN/PLASMA/ LED/LCD TV's in these rooms. The reception is terrible and the "free" WiFi doesn't work or is extremely slow because to quote the front desk "everyone is on their Blackberries"

I stayed at this hotel because is thought it would be closer to Henley Island and I could not find a room in St Catharines. This hotel is in Thorold which is about 15 minutes from St Catharines. There is absolutely nothing in the immediate vicinity. Actually I lied, there is a Tim Horton's just down the street.

Will definitely not stay here next year. I am planning to book at the Holiday Inn in St Catharines or one of the Hotels in Niagara Falls, possibly the Four Points by Sheraton Fallsview.

BTW I paid $109 CAD/night for this hotel.

I did ask for another room and it was pretty much the same as the one we had.

Thank you for the comments provided regarding your recent stay with us. Firstly I would like to apologise for the internet service you experienced. It was slow as we experienced some problems which we have corrected now with our internet provider. Also, I just wanted to let you know that we are indeed going to be doing an entire property renovation starting later this year. I can't wait to have a fully renovated property next year! I hope that your rowing events went well during the Henley National Rowing Competition and wish you all the best in next years events.
