“WOW! You have to stay here.”

Do you like wine, beautiful scenery, hiking, birdwatching, unparalleled hospitality, and privacy or any combination of these? The Grape Escape is a gem of solitude in the increasingly busy Okanagan Valley. Gerri and George have found paradise and welcome all who wish to enjoy it with them. Gerri's baked goodies every morning were the perfect start to the day, followed by a dip in the private hot tub (yes, no sharing with a hotel full of people...) and a stroll in the vineyard with a coffee. Freshly picked lettuce and kale for a salad on our first night was a treat and use of the herb garden outside the front door was unexpected and made our outdoor cooking culinary experience memorable. Inside the guest house is luxury - beautiful finishings, antique furniture, expansive washroom, a full movie selection, games, books and everything needed for self-catering. Our last evening was spent starting with a vineyard and local history tour with George followed by an amazing private wine tasting and memorable discussion with Gerri, George and 2 WWOOF travellers that were being hosted at the Garnet Valley Vineyard. A memorable and life changing experience at the Grape Escape - I would have moved in permanently if at all possible. Looking forward to future trips to Summerland now that we have found such a 'Grape Escape'.

Grape Escape was a fabulously appointed, fully equipped cottage that provided us a truely private and luxurious holiday. Gerri and George were wonderful hosts, available at any time yet very respectful of our privacy. Gerri treated us to freshly baked goods each morning and George shared his time touring us through his vineyard. Being just 10 minutes out of Summerland we loved coming home each night to our beautiful little oasis nestled in the Garnet valley, away from everything. We highly recommend this delightful cottage to anyone looking for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily living. We will definitely return. Barb and Paul

We had a fantastic 1 week stay at the Grape Escape in July 2013
Gerri greeted us with wine from the vineyard, fresh cherries from their trees and fresh eggs from their chickens.
The accommodation was super clean well appointed
Gerri and George are exceptional hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We enjoyed wonderful baked treats in the morning.
The setting on the vineyard was truly peaceful and relaxing.
We enjoyed hiking and biking right out the door
We highly recommended the Grape Escape!

Thank you again, Gerri and George

Loved our stay at Grape Escape a peaceful quiet location in the Garnet Valley. Our suite was perfect, clean and comfortable, well equipped with everything required to make our stay a great experience. Georges' tour of the vineyard was very interesting and informative. Geris' home baking every morning along with fresh fruit was just the start we needed for the day. Truly a relaxing getaway which we will strongly recommend to friends and family.

I stayed at the Grape Escape with my spouse. We stayed in the Grape Escape room, which was a lovely room and the deck was nice and private. The breakfast was top notch; some of the best meals I've ever had. The location was convenient, the grounds were beautiful and our host was accommodating. I would return again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I just spend 3 nights in The Get Away Suite - and it was really, really nice! Cozy rooms, very friendly hosts - and beautiful nature surrounding the place. It was very quiet and peaceful. Just what we were looking for. We can highly recommend Grape Escape! Best wishes from Mia and Michael, Denmark

For two years in a row my husband and I enjoyed George and Gerri's boundless hospitality as we toured the region during the fall wine festival. Gerri's spectacular cooking and willingness to accomodate our dietary idiosyncrasies made mornings a delight. The freshest of eggs and garden produce served creatively each day. You can taste the love she has for her chickens in each egg. :)
We were privileged again this past year to be invited to share some of George's excellent wine before we went out to dinner and enjoyed catching up on their travels abroad during the past year. Gerri goes to great lengths to keep both the Get Away and the House suite in immaculate condition and we appreciate her fastidiousness. The high light of the stay for me this year was the early morning soaks in the hot tub surrounded by light fog, the sounds of the birds and low clouds hanging on the ridge. Idyllic despite the poor fall weather that was wasn't helping to bring the grapes in.
Gerri & George are the most generous of hosts who go that extra mile to make their house a home while you stay with them. Special touches in the evening when the room is turned down and even an offer to drive us to and from dinner one night shortly after the new blood alcohol law was passed show how much they really care for their guests. They will always be my first contact when staying in the region and look forward to sharing their home and company again in the future.
