“For the young and not so young.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Took this train ride, with my wife, in August 2013. Very enjoyable. We were lucky enough to be on the train when it was pulled by the steam locomotive. Normally this does not happen except on special occasions. There is a short stop at the middle part of the train trip when you are allowed off to stretch your legs.

“Day to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

This was a greatway to see the surrounding country side, the staff were so friendly we specialy liked the Banjo player. We are English and were made to feel special which is nice when you are a long way from home. Good value for money and a fun afternoon

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

What a fun way to spend part of a vacation! Even tho we missed the turn at the round-about we finally found the KVR station and just in time for the 1:30 ride. It was misting but we opted for the open car anyway and we're glad we did as I think we had a better all around view. The conductors were friendly, the banjo player took requests and even knew House of the Rising Sun. The gift shop folks were just as nice. If you are a train person then this trip is a must. Bring the camera!

“Great blast from the past!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

My wife and I loved this fun, simple old fashioned afternoon! We booked the train robbery and bbq excursion and werenot disappointed!

Signage getting to the station helped us arrive with no problem. Plenty of parking and no problem getting our tickets. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful.

The ride is comfortable, enjoyable and so scenic! It's slow moving and makes for a leisurely ride. The train robbery was fun and the food was surprisingly delicious!

One suggestion, when booking your tickets, see if you can get your seats on the left, or "engineer" side of the car, you'll enjoy the views a lot more.

We will definitely be back!

“Amazing time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We loved it - right from 76 year old Gramps to 2 year old toddler. The only person who slept through it was my 3 month old. The robbery was a blast, the team of train volunteers enthusiastic and friendly, and the BBQ food fantastic (bbq chicken, roast beef, beet salad, thai salad, apple/walnut salad, green salad, baked beans and trifle for dessert - it was sooo good!). Great memories and a stunning view!!!
