My wife and I ate here a day after we were married. We wished we'd chosen Oceana for our wedding night meal. It was the best meal we had in St. Thomas or St. John and ranks right up there with best we've ever been to.
I had the swordfish, which was prepared perfectly, and my wife had the filet mignon which was exceptional. We finished off the meal with the pain perdu and I had to try the wasabi ice cream (No seriously!). The pain perdu was almost like a banana bread covered in browned butter that tasted like a light caramel and creme fraiche. It was amazing. The wasabi ice cream was just OK but was fun just for the weird factor.
We were there after dark so we couldn't see the view but there was a nice ocean breeze and we really enjoyed the ambiance. Our waiter was very good. He explained the specials and how they would be prepared, checked on us often...but not too often and was friendly.
The only downside to this place is finding it. If you take a cab, obviously it won't be a problem but we were driving and had a heck of a time. Once you see the ball field, take the next left and follow that road/alley/what looks like a driveway to the end and you'll see Oceana. It was an adventure but well worth it.
