For us it hits all the spots that our rural accommodation and the more touristy cruise-ship south do not. It feels like an exotic island! Fantastic palm-fringed sandy bay with exhilarating surf (I haven’t enjoyed sea so much since I was a child), a neat little pool and Jacuzzi, comfy lodge with all the home comforts of a country house but with wide expanse of terrace looking out across the Grenadine archipelago. We escaped for a night and stayed over in one of the simple yet elegantly furnished Grenadian-style villas. It was a relief to have the option of a/c or ceiling fan and due to the constant sea breeze – no mossies! The double doors and shower room open onto a spacious terrace and the sound of the surf lulled us to sleep after a delicious dinner. It was magical waking as the sun rose to watch exotic herons fishing for land crabs from our four-poster bed!
Philip and Annie the owners and their team are friendly and attentive and despite still in shake down having only been opened for a couple of weeks, the food, service, ambiance and overall setting show great potential. This really is something special.
Sauteurs the local town is full of character and the locals are charming and seem pleased to see us. It is approximately 1 ½ hours by car from St.George’s which may if a first visit to Granada seem too far. However we had already explored for 12 days and were really ready for the relaxing comfort that Petite Anse provided. Our only regret is that we did not find it earlier – but we will definitely stay here the next time in Grenada.
