Marina Hemingway, is a nice and historic place. The hotel offers a lobby that is straight out of a 60's James Bond Movie. The staff are helpful but slow, there is a great pool and the surf pounding against the break wall at night can be both soothful and annoying. When our flight was delaid out of Havana City Airport, we were shuttled by Air Cubana to this hotel the lack of coordination was really poor and there were not enough rooms free for the amount of people brought in by the buses. After a few exhausting hours waiting to get a room, the key got stuck and wouldn't open the door. After a few hours later, I was informed by the assistant manager that the hotel was recently renovated with new furniture and paint. I replied it was to bad that the locks on the doors were overlooked. While this was going on, I retreated to the lobby downstairs and asked the hotel staff for a snack or whatever they had prepared since it was hours since any of us were fed. I enjoyed my extra night later in the terrace, as the sun was going down the view of Havana was truly magical. I would advise other travlers to be paiteint, since the cubans try to make everything work as smoothly as possible.
