I really cannot understand the excellent/very good ratings of this casa.

The room was cleaned, but it smelled strangely. The ceiling is wet and it is molding in the room. There needs to be some repair and renovation done in the room! Basic daily room service which is standard in all other casas we had does not go without saying.

We had ordered dinner before our arrival. It was ok, but nothing more. The breakfast was as well ok, but we had much better food in many other casas.

All in all, we had much better casas for 25 CUC/night!

My girl friend and I had a completely satisfying stay at the Mederos Family’s Casa. The smiling family made a warm welcome!

Actually we should have been there for two nights but my girl friend strained her leg (watch out for the kicking horse in the tourist place at the great painting “Dos Hermanas”!!) and the family kindly made sure that we could stay there for two nights more – no problem!

We had a great time on their lovely porch watching the hummingbirds and other birds in their lovely garden.

Thank you very much!

Just came back from a wonderful stay in Viñales with this lovely family. It was perfect - great people who made us feel very welcome in their home and perfect little house with an adorable garden and patio. The room, with its private bathroom, is in a very good condition and is very cozy. We stayed 3 nights at Casa Tomás y Yolanda and spent a lot of time in the house, relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this unique place. It was the perfect balance between socialising with the familiy and being on our own.

I recommend this casa to anyone who is looking to go to Viñales and also recommend having breakfast and/or dinner at the house. It was really good food! Enjoy!

Great hospitality!
Best food we got in Cuba!
Felt at home the one night we stayed there. Did not get too much sleep but that was caused by music downtown untill 3 am.
You do not really have to book your casa before you arrive but if you book at Tomas and Yolandas place you will not be dissappointed. It is very close to centre of Vinales but it is still tranquille.
Guide Pablo, a friendly of the familly, was good.

I stayed with Tomas, Yolanda and family in June and it was absolutely lovely. My favorite part is the little porch just in front of the private room that sits in a little internal garden area. I could sit there reading for hours, listening to the birds. Absolutely lovely. I'm heading back to Cuba in April and will definitely spend a weekend with them again if they aren't all booked up!

We loved staying with Tomas and Yolanda and the rest of the clan - they were very genuine and hospitable and to us, it was our best stay in Cuba because of this. The room is basic - two double beds, private bathroom with hot water shower - and it was very clean. It has it's own door from the courtyard and a separate side entrance to the house if you are coming and going early or late.

The family provided breakfast - simple but delicious - and the meal we ate there was tasty and it's highly recommended to dine in at least one night there.

Really staying in the casa's in Cuba is about the experience you have with the family and this was the right balance between friendliness and privacy, which was appreciated. Tomas and Yolanda seemed to really care if we were enjoying our time around their town too.

The location is good, just two blocks from the main street and we just went to the street when we arrived, told one person who were looking for and they called ahead and Tomas came to find us! That small town feel was definitely another highlight of being in Vinales!

I have booked Casa Yolanda y Tomas Mederos on hotelclick.com just few days in advance. I received confirmation from Tomas in few hours.

We arrived in the middle of crazy rain and all people near bus station tried to force us to go to their casas. We've heard that 'this casa doesn't exist anymore", "burned down" or is "just ugly". All lies of course and we were happy to take taxi to get there. We didn't inform Thomas or Yolanda of our arrival plans, that's why we couldn't meet in the centre. We took taxi and cost was 3 CUC - fair price.

When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet, but they prepared it asap. We've been offered some cold drinks whilst waiting. Rain was gone so we decided to go to the centre and do some sightseeing. Tomas could help you calling for taxi if you.

We came back later and checked-in to our room. Room was clean, fresh and quite spacious, en-suite. Air-condition was working fine you have small balcony facing garden. Bathroom attached and hot water was available all the time. Only one issue I had that was electric installation in the shower - that worked, but one day somebody could be electrocuted by that.
There is separate entry, so you don't have to bother family when coming back late.

In the evening we had our dinner which we requested earlier. Absolutely perfect. Soooo tasty and a lot of it. I couldn't move.

Before leaving next morning breakfast was served. Again, good choice and really tasty.

I have to say that this family (especially kids) are very hospitable and kind. You'd definitely have great time staying here. I can easily recommend it. Good price, nice location and friendly people.
