We where In Barbados for a day while on a cruise and rented a van for a day to do some sightseeing on our own. We visited several places that day including Foursquare.
We read about FourSquare Rum before our visit and it did not disappoint us. We read about Mt Gay Rummery and wanted to visited something more then a tasting and gift shop, so we skipped that.
Foursquare is a working rum distillery. Admission was free, which we liked. It is a self-guided tour, but there were several workers around who answered any questions we had. There was a small museum, and several historic restored building. The grounds were beautiful, well maintained. You actually tour the working rummery. They were putting rum in barrels while we where there.
After touring the grounds, we did a tasting of several of their rums. We liked most of them and bought a couple bottles. It was very low pressure to buy.
The tasting staff were very knowledgable and made the experience a pleasant one.
We spent over 2 hours there, and was our most enjoyable stop on Barbados.
We would highly recommend a visit to Foursquare while visiting Barbados. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids ages 13 & 17, and the kids enjoyed it also and were not bored at all..
We were the only visitors there that day during that time to see this undiscovered gem.
