“Excellent family stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

This was the third time we've stayed at Llwydiarth Fawr whle travelling to and from the ferry at Holyhead and It now feels like a home from home. The rooms are beautiful and the welcome is second to none. The breakfast selection has to be seen to be believed! We look foward to our stay as we know we'll be well looked after.

My wife and I have stayed at Llwydiarth Fawr at least 5 times now, and it simply gets better and better.

Margaret, David & Richard have a knack of making you feel so welcome, so much so, that you almost feel part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble, whether it be restaurant bookings in advance or simply advise on where to go on the island. We truly have never had such excellent service in all the other B&Bs we have stayed at over the years.

Anglesey itself is a very special place. Lots of lovely beaches, walks, wildlife and the rest. We recommend it to anyone wanting a nice relaxing break with a touch of luxury thrown in!

Room Tip: The room with the sunken bath is spacious and special.

Stayed two nights in November 2011 - lovely accommodation clean, warm and friendly and comfortable. Breakfast excellent with range of fresh fruit, choice of cereals, yoghurts and croissants - followed by a well cooked Welsh breakfast. The farm house has lovely views and is approached via a long drive away from any traffic allowing peace and quiet and a restful sleep. I have stayed in 4 star hotels where the accommodation and service have not been half as good as this - a great find!

On arrival Margaret and David welcomed us and asked if we would like a drink after the journey. Decaf Tea was not a problem and we where shown into the lounge. David lit the fire and tea with some fantastic Bara Brith arrived very shortly. What a wonderful start to our short stay.

The room was spacious and well appointed, plentiful supply of everything you could need and more. Nice touches such as fresh apples, chocolates and proper coffee for a cafatiere to name a few. The house, rooms and service truely deserve the 5 star rating.

As others have said you are spoilt for choice at breakfast and spoilt by your hosts. This one I would rate as one of the best places we have stayed in, look through my previous reviews if you want to see what it rates against.

The house is an old world gem and truely a credit to the owners and how they have cared for it. Sat in the lounge pheasants wandered around the patio, truely was sublime.

Thanks for a wonderful stay, looking forward to going again.

Margaret incredibly welcoming, serving us tea and biscuits in the lounge on arrival, and advising us on places to eat out, showing us best locations - def goes the extra mile for you. Building is beautiful old manor house, that you are felt you can treat as your own. Room was lovely - nice comfy bed, chocolates and fruit in room - and plentiful supply of toiletries. Breakfast was fantastic - loads of choice of cereals and fruits, and the cooked breakfast was delicious, and enormous too. Definitely set us up for the day. Island is lovely - my first visit - though my partner has visited many times before. Loads to see and would def return to stay here - either in the house, or in one of the cottages with the children.

We found the welcome by Mrs Margaret Hughes as friendly as it could possibly be. She does her very best to make people feel welcome and at their ease. Her accomodation is spotless, comfortable but not clinical.
Margaret provides good sized rooms and all are en-suite as you would expect. Fresh flowers and fresh fruit plus chocolates are provided in the rooms and once consumed replaced. Toiletries are in the bathrooms and towels are plentyful.
The breakfast is to die for. A vast choice of cereals (?15) plus lovely fresh fruit, tinned fruit, nuts, seeds, cheese, cake and more all followed by a most wonderful cooked breakfast of the very best quality ingredients. Service at breakfast is quiet as you wish and all done very professionally by Margaret and her adult son David.
There is no doubt in my mind that any person staying at Llwyiarth Fawr would be unable to complain about even the smalleest thing. Forgotten your book?........worry not Margaret has hundreds. For me and my wife the best place we visited was CEMAES BAY. Like all the places we visited is wasclean, friendly and a most wonderful harbour in which to sit and watch the world go by or join in with water sports.
