I stayed at the Westminster a few years ago, when it was in poor condition, and decided to give it another try and there are new owners. It is now great, it is obvious to anyone who knew this hotel before that a lot of money has been spent on it recently. The reception and lounge and dining areas are all refurbished as was our bedroom.

A coach party was in at the same time as us and so we had superb entertainment thrown in. We were also able to have evening meal as there was a large group in and these were absolutely magnificent, nothing fancy, just traditional english cooking, I would stay here just for the food !! If you want dinners book in when coaches are in and its no problem.

The Westminster probably has the best position in Rhyl being just as it says in its brochure, 'literally next door' to everything. For what we paid it was tremendous value and I will go again. l

I recently stayed at the Westminster on a coach tour with 49 other people. The food was amazing I have put on at least a stone!! There was a second coach in as well and we all had a fantastic week. The owner and staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. The specially arranged entertainment was brilliant.

The hotel is right next to the shops, so is very handy if you have forgot something or are a shoppaholic. The trips to the surrounding areas were also very good. Would love to return.

We have stayed at the Westminster, Rhyl,a number of times over the last few years, and to say it has been improved recently, is an understatement. Lovely new carpets, furniture etc and decor everywhere. Our room was great, very spacious with panoramic sea views. We stayed at Easter and the hotel was full. A great mix of people of all ages, and a superb hot, tasty breakfast that was speedily served, even though they were obviously very busy.

The hotel is walking distance from all main attractions, and a short drive into magnificent scenery of North Wales. Rhyl is being improved with EU funds, so expect some building work in the town. But would stay at the Westminster again, fantastic value for money.

I came to this hotel not knowing anything about rhyl or north wales. When I came through the door I was greeted by friendly staff who offered great help about the local attractions in which north wales had to offer.

The hotel was clean tidy to a every high standard. If could sum up this hotel in one word it would be the Plaza of rhyl.

The room I stayed in was number 27 which was clean and tidy with good working order equipment, I had the best week sleep I ever had when I have been on holiday.

The food served every morning was great and enjoyable I wish I could take some home.

We'd read the online reviews after booking and expected the worst. However, when we arrived at the Westminster we found it wasn't too bad. Our room was obviously recently refurbished with a brand new bathroom suite, and the room had new furniture, carpets tv etc. Even the others travelling with us had comfortable clean rooms. We didn't partake of breakfast so can't comment there, but overall would class the accomodation as cheap and cheerful - you can't expect the Ritz for just over £20 a night.

Rhyl itself was a disappointment, and is only useful as a base for other north Wales & city destinations - really handy for Chester, Manc and Liverpool; close to Llandudno which was fab!

we arrived inour room to find a cracked bath, the bathroom floor was meant to be beige but was black. there was a large dirty plaster on the floor, the basin was cracked and the bathroom light above the mirror didn't work and the air vent was so clogged up it didn't work! This was just our bathroom.
we went into the main room i opened a really old wardrobe, it absolutely stank, it smelt like someone had weed in it and the doors hadn't been opened for 6 months. we looked out the windows but couldn't they were black we managed to get one of the two windows open and we needed ito because the room was like a sauna and we couldn't turn the heating off.
The light in the bedroom was a flouresent light with no cover on it. I moved the bed underneath it was a dirty condom and toe nail clippings.
we came with a coach load all of us had complaints about our rooms. The lady next door had her door fall off just when she put her key in it. Someone else had there window fall down when they opened it and it cracked. I did take photos but they are not developed yet i will be sending them to the authorities, I don't know how this hotel is able to open to [paying customers. it should be closed down.
