Very pleasant overnight at Anchor Hotel.Very modern facilities with nice style although bathroom a bit small. We had a lovely outlook over the harbour. Food in Seabird restaurant was really excellent with pleasant friendly service . Highly recommended as a quality small modern friendly hotel

We were given the largest non "sea-view" room available, and it was huge! everything was spot-clean, bathroom was superb, ine of the best breakfast we had in Scotland and wonderful restaurant (we had supper twice, probably the best scallops we tried).

Very welcoming, best place in town to stay, if you can, pay the extra.

We decided at the last minute to take a break and ended up on our way to Tarbert, Loch Fyne. Searched on line whilst in the car and found the hotel and thought it looked nice. Called from the car and checked the room rates and then booked.

When we arrived we warmly greeted and given directions to our room with a view of the harbour. We dropped off bags and then went for a wander around the bay. We looked at various eateries but ended up back at our hotel as their menu had the better choice.

We booked our table for 8pm. We had a lovely evening with first class service, 5 star dinning and a lovely view out to the harbour. It was helped along with added bonus of good weather!

Would and will stay again and have already recommended it to 2 friends of ours.

We booked a two night stay after sailing to Campbeltown on the new ferry service from Ardrossan.

Check-in was very efficient, we only had to give our name and sign in. The room was very comfortable although it was on the small side.

We enjoyed all our meals as all the food was excellent and the staff very friendly.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. We will be back!

We stayed at the anchor for a weekend of sailing and very much enjoyed the experience. Location is perfect right on the harbour front with a beautiful view over Loch Fyne. Tarbert is very busy during the sailing seasons and I thought that the hotel coped very well with the crowds of sailors and their families. The food was excellent especially given the large numbers served. The breakfast is not to be missed and is freshly cooked to order. I recommend the smoked haddock and poached egg. The only small gripe was the lack of fresh fruit. Our double room was small but comfortable with a well appointed small shower room. It suited us fine although the walls were very thin and we were disturbed by next door room noise. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we will be back.

Room Tip: I would ask for a harbour view on booking.

This hotel seemed perfect. I say seemed. Everything about the hotel was brand new and stylish. All the fixtures and fittings were in pristine condition and modern. Our stay was perfect......except for some very, very minor details. For instance, the tea kettle (which I never understood how to open the top to take water-maybe I am missing some catch or hidden spring?), did not fit under the (very modern) bathroom tap. No matter which way I twisted and turned it, it would not fit. Eventually I filled it from a drinking glass.
Another example was the shower. Very classy, but........opening both doors I could only just squeeze through, and I am NOT portly!
Anyway our stay was very reasonably priced and, despite those very minor (more amusing actually) gripes, we thoroughly enjoyed our brief one-nighter.

Room Tip: I hope you are reasonably slim!
