Just one night on our return to germany we had a wonderful stay at Dunivaig B&B. A recommendation with booking for a very good dinner and a full scottish breakfast. Test the skippers - my secret tip. The B&B is perfect to stay before or after a trip to Islay. Just 15 min to the fery (with a car). A Great stay. We come back again.

This B&B is just the perfect place to stay before you go to Islay: close to the ferry (10 min by car), very friendly and helpful owners, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds as well as cozy and clean rooms. Great stay for a decent price, we would definitely go there again.

We stayed here en route to Kennacraig for the early ferry. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view out across the loch is fantastic, and in the morning I had possibly the nicest cooked breakfast I've had. Highly recommended ( even though its taken me a while to get round to doing that).

Thank you for your review that you would highly recommend our small bed and breakfast accommodation and that our breakfast was the nicest cooked breakfast you've ever had. Your comments are very much appreciated by Peter, who is excellent at getting up early to cook. It is really uplifting to receive such a lovely review and makes all the hard work worth while. We hope you will stay with us again to enjoy more of our breakfasts and our sea view rooms.

We had a very short, but wonderful stay at this excellent B&B. (I was a little surprised to see it was given 3 stars, not 4 by the B&B board.) It was easily comparable to the 4 star B&Bs we stayed at. Our room was spacious and incredibly comfortable with stunning views over Loch Fyne. Peter and Louise gave excellent advice on where to eat in town. My only regret was that we were not able to arrive earlier due to a long travel day. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the turret rooms that overlook the Loch.

Louise and Peter are delighted that you have compared our bed and breakfast establishment to that of a 4 star accommodation. Our 2 ensuite rooms are quite spacious with a seating area, too. From the room windows our guests often have views of the various sea birds, such as the gannets diving for fish. If you are very lucky you might glimpse an otter scampering over the rocks at the edge of Loch Fyne. Even though you live over the Atlantic far away we will welcome you back to share in the breathtaking views Kintyre has to offer.

There is nothing I would criticize about this B&B. Lovely home, clean room, comfortable bed, bathroom fine... Breakfast was served piping hot with fluffy scrambled eggs and abundant haggis - perfect! Owners are very friendly and helpful and its going to be my " regular" place whenever I'm in Tarbert. Bravo on all counts.

This B&B is well situated for the ferry. There is one two minutes away for the closer island, and about a 15 minute drive to Kennacraig ferry which goes to (Arran or Islay/Jura). The view from the room is spectacular and I think this is one of the best parts of this B&B. Unforunately, I would have to say that the bed was not very comfortable. Other than that the room was very nice. The breakfast was very tasty and enjoyable. The town of Tarbert; I would have to say doesn't really have much going on, except for a castle. But if you need a place to lay your head for a good night's sleep before you head out to the ferry, it is a good location.

Thank you for taking the time to write your complimentary review of our bed and breakfast establishment, yes we too enjoy our stunning views over Loch Fyne and the distant hills of the Cowal peninsula.
We are sorry to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable and we wish that you had brought this to our attention at the time of your stay in order that we might have been able to rectify the problem. All our beds are Silent Night and are under 2 years old and each mattress has a mattress topper for extra comfort. Many of our guests have remarked on how comfortable the beds are and 1 couple actually joked that they would like to take it home with them.
Your compliments about breakfast is greatly appreciated as we offer a variety of different fresh foods for breakfast from Tarbert smoked kippers to a full Scottish breakfast and plenty of fresh fruit.
We hope you will stay with us again at Dunivaig and to give us another opportunity to welcome you into our family run bed and breakfast. It is always very important to us that all our guests have a lovely stay and we look forward to meeting you again one day.

We travelled as 2 couples and stayed one night. The location is excellent being a short walk from the village and having amazing views over the loch. The 2 rooms we had overlooked the loch and,of the 2, the one with the king- size bed was the best with double aspect views. The family room only had a standard double bed. The beds were comfortable with high quality bedding. The rooms were well equipped with tea and coffee making, biscuits, good quality shampoos and soaps. A nice touch was flannels to go with the good quality towels. The shower in the family room was fine but a little on the small side.

Parking is in a small lay by and access to the house is by way of a fairly steep path. We arrived in torrential rain at the agreed time and sadly Louise was not there, but arrived after a few minutes and did apologise. Travelling as a foursome it was a pity not to have somewhere to sit other than each others bedrooms. We are not keen on having to order breakfast the night before although the selection was good and included an excellent selection of fresh fruit.

Overall our hosts were friendly and willing to give local information and restaurant advice.
