“An oasis of calm just off the A303”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Stopped in for coffee on Bank Holiday Monday, it is a nice break between Honiton and Amesbury,
lovely coffee, lovely staff and friendly customers with a nice slightly old fashioned atmosphere. The cakes were very tempting but we were going on for lunch so resisted the temptation. We will go in for food one day hopefully.

“At last a tearoom with teapots”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Why do so many tearooms forget to give you a teapot? Certainly the don't at the Angel - and a great range of cakes too. Interesting tip - warm your cake before you serve it - as they do here. Not one of the posh and prim offerings in tearooms but a great homely welcome with good tea and great cakes. Loved it!

“Excellent tea room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

I visited with my mother for a lunchtime snack, very impressive menu. We had an excellent lunch and will return again when visiting the area.
Although, I tried to book a table online I had no response, which I class as very unprofessional. I was very surprised as the website was inviting, and thought it would be polite to reply to their enquiries.

“Good little tea room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Everything a tea room should be - warm welcome, homecooked food, well priced. Open on a Sunday as well for the passing trade coming off the A303 for a break. The proprietor could do with tidying himself up a little - Tshirts and striped aprons are fine in the kitchen, but not front of house!

“A delightful surprise awaits you in Mere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

I was visiting my 93 year old mother in Mere and we were housebound for a while due to the 5-1/2" snowfall. Upon our escape we treated ourselves to coffee and baked yummies at the Angel Corner Tea Room - a pleasant stroll through the village. Coffee was excellent (and I live in America!) and it was great to see all those handbaked scones and cakes in the display case. What a refreshing change from the commercially prepared stuff. So, if you are traveling along the A303 in either direction and need a very pleasant break, the friendly owner will make you most welcome.
