“Well worth investigating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

In a delightful village frequented by Miss Marple, Midsomer Murders and Poirot is this beautifully restored 400 year old hotel. Quality shines throughout - from the welcoming and helpful staff to the lovely meals and spotless rooms. Very highly recommended and good value for money, especially on the T/Zoo packages. Our room was small but adequate for our needs though you can upgrade to larger rooms for a modest charge.
We'll be back soon for this high quality accommodation in an area where there's lots to explore

Room Tip: Probably worth upgrading to a larger room if you feel you need more space

Great Food, Great Service, Great Value and Lovely Location. Just returned from a 2 night stay and would highly recommend you give it a try. The only issue we had was with a lack of hot water but this did rectify itself after about 30 minutes. We will definitely be planning another visit later in the year.

Stayed just one night following a family wedding at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton which is convenient being just 10 minutes away. Stayed in the Dorchester suite which has a downstairs bathroom and a lounge and separate bedroom upstairs.

Breakfast was very good with varied choice of hot selections e.g. "full english", scrambled egg with smoked salmon, smoked haddock. Service was nice and quick with tea and toast arriving within a couple of minutes of being seated. Located in a lovely village setting. Recommended.

We spent the weekend at the White Hart for a family celebration. The staff were very accommodating, making every effort to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. They set aside a private dining room on both evenings, and even allowed us exclusive use of one of the lounges. The food was excellent, keeping meat-eaters, fish-eaters and vegetarians happy! The log-burners ensured that the atmosphere was cosy and warm. It's a great location too, a lovely little village but close to places like Oxford. Highly recommended!

Had.a lovely weekend at this cosy coaching inn hotel. It was a miserable cold weekend but because the hotel was so lovely we had a great time. We had a room in the cottage which was perfect as we had our dog. The food was very good

The hotel was cosy but not claustrophobic. There were log fires, comfy leather sofas and big windows with views over the historic high st. But the best thing was the friendly staff who could not have been nicer. Everyone from the manager to the girls who clwaned our rooms. They were really good with our dog who also had a great time.

Dorcester is a very historic little village and this.is the.perfect place for a short break especially if you have a dog.
