“Lovely pub to walk to with the dogs.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Cosy fire and dogs allowed in the bar area. Good gargen too for the summer. Plus good food and beer. Recommend the cider. d

“Just how a pub restaurant should be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

The Fleur de Lys restaurant is a joy. I booked for a large group and every dish was well appreciated. It was Sunday lunch, when two courses cost £14, and the roast beef was to die for - fresh out of the oven, nicely pink in the middle, excellent range of seasonal vegetables, and an amazing Yorkshire pudding. Yes, the menu is limited but the reward is in the quality. But that's not all. This restaurant has a wonderfully friendly atmosphere - almost like dining at the owners' own table - and because the bar area is quite small, it feels much less like a pub. With drinkers' pubs closing every week in the UK, and landlords complaining about their business disappearing, why can't more adapt in the brilliant way the Fleur de Lys has?

“Best meal we had for our three week honeymoon.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

My wife and i have been staying at new hotel every three days for the last three weeks visiting friends and family around the oxfordshire area whilst on our honey moon. The food at this inn was by the far the best quality and best value for money. We had two courses for £15 mid week offer.i would of been happy to pay double that.
I was very happy with the small menu that catered for every taste. I believe that the smaller the menu the more honest and home cooked the meal is.
Will be back for more and recommend to all.
i wish this was my local pub/resturant.

“Excellent village restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

We have dined here every year when we have been on holiday in Oxfordshire. It has always been good value for money. About one year ago, the pub/restaurant changed hands. We were there soon after the change, and it was apparent that the new owners were settling in. We dined there about 10 days ago, on a Saturday night. The restaurant had enough people in it to give it atmosphere without it being too crowded. The menu is innovative and unlike many pubs, it is clear that the food is cooked by the chef rather than simply bought in for re heating. It is of a high quality and tasty. There is a good selection on the board without it being overwhelmingly large. If one does not want to eat in the restaurant there is a simpler bar menu available for £10. The restaurant prices are £15 for two courses which is excellent value.

For dessert, we opted for the landladys own dessert (designed and made by her rather than the chef) which was simply delicious, fluffy, creamy and laced with liquer

The service is attentive, friendly and personal, which makes for a much more enjoyable informal meal and the selection of wines is good.

Thoroughly reccomended, we shall certainly dine there again when we go next year.

“Home cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

The wine was great, food was good but the menu limited. It appeared to be couple owned and lovingly run. Ladies bathroom was a designers nightmare tho.
