“Excellent takeaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

We were self catering in Askrigg for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the ready made meals from here. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for and the quality is excellent. The shop itself has a good selection of food and other goods and the staff are very pleasant. We can particularly recommend the roll and sausage for breakfast - delicious!

“A brilliant deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Five ' old ' school friends were staying across the road for 5 nights and this Deli was an excellent alternative to going out to pubs. On 3 nights we had the take away meals, all of which were excellent. We also had the tasty soups at lunchtime and the freshly baked croissants in the morning. The service is friendly and informative . I would not hesitate to recommend it.

“Hope you don't need a bathroom!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

We have been here twice and on both occasions the food has been lovely. The first time we ate in the cafe which was lovely, the second time we came back and ordered 4 take away sandwiches, while we waited for 10 minutes I asked to use the bathroom to which the dark haired girl behind the counter disappointingly said 'no they are only for cafe customers, you can use the public toilets down the road' we had spent over £15, more than I'm sure a lot of their cafe customers do. The food is delicious, the customer service needs some work.

I can only appologise for the respose you received regarding the use of our bathroom, I will look into it but in defence of my staff we do have a lot of people coming in just asking if there is a toilet. We are very happy for Our customers to use Our facilities but we are not a public convenience. You would have been most welcome and apologies for the mix up and thank you for your business and comments

“Good food in a lovely village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were staying across the road, so popped in most mornings to buy fresh bread and went in the cafe twice. The "cappucino" was a bit suspect, but no complaints at all about the 3-layer sponge cakes. Very tasty!
