Owner description: In Gosport town centre you’ll find The Discovery Centre, which is open till 7pm on weekday evenings. There is a surprising range of things to see at the Centre, including art exhibitions, events, and special activities for children and families. The Discovery Centre museum tells the history of Gosport and is well worth a visit, whilst those interested in fossils will enjoy the Geology Gallery. Why not also visit the family friendly exhibition on the mezzanine floor of Gosport Discovery Centre. Located just off the Town Centre High Street, exhibitions use pictures, objects and interactives to tell the stories of Gosport’s people.

“Lovely cakes and coffees !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Great place to meet friends for a coffee if we have little ones with us. Nice coffee and delicious (huge) homemade cakes and quiche. Comfortable seating areas and reasonably priced. Plenty for the kids to do whilst I can sit quietly and browse Internet using free wi fi or read a book. Also there is a coffee loyalty scheme (buy 6 hot drinks and get the next for free) always a positive for me and lovely little gallery in bookworm cafe xxx

“good library, average cafe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

have been few times to the cafe, food is ok, basic. coffee average.

staff not too helpful with regard to baby, no help with complicated high chair.

on one occasion we needed bottle warming - they took bottle to kitchen to be warmed, miserably handed it back, blatantly still cold. due to attitude we left and went to morissons cafe opposite where very friendly staff let us use their bottle heater.

will use again if caught short - but only if baby doesn't need milk!

We would like to apologise profusely for the poor customer service you experienced in the Library Café. Your comments have been treated seriously and we have taken immediate action to improve matters.

We have purchased a baby bottle and food warmer to ensure that in future any warming is done safely and to the correct temperature and staff will offer help to any customer who use a high chair.

Providing a good service to customers is very important to us and your experience was inexcusable, we have spoken to all staff about this matter and they will be attending a refresher customer service training day. We will introduce a customer comment card to enable customers to give immediate feedback of their experience at the Café. Our food menu is quite basic – mainly rolls, soup and Panini as we are a snack type outlet, however we are planning to expand the menu from May 2012.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to bring these matters to our attention, and we hope that your next visit is much more satisfactory.

“Very relaxing and accommodating for adults and children alike.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

We took a ferry acrose toe bat to the town of gosport, 2 pound 70 per person one way. all the shops were very small and accepted credit cards. ATM's are available w/no fee and the exchange rate was at that day. There was a bus terminal to anywhere (a little pricey) 8 lbs for a 35 min ride. The walk by the water was lovely and the weather was cool and sunny.
