We have been visiting East Devon for several years and have never been disappointed with the welcome, the course or the food. I have a rule of thumb that I don't travel more than an hour's drive from home for a game of golf and East Devon is well over two hours away which says something about my feelings about this place.
There is quite a bit of gorse and even more heather around to catch a wayward shot and even with a good drive you have to also have a good second or could find the wrong side of the green with an impossible putt. It's a course you have to think you way around but do take the time to look back as the views are stunning.
After the round the bar is a relaxing place to spend a little time admiring the view out to sea. It's also worth trying the restaurant as well, as the food is first rate with very friendly service.
All in all it's a great day out.
