“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We eat here twice on a short stay in Budleigh Salterton. This cosy little bistro offered a wide selection of dishes for all tastes. I opted for a Tuna steak it was a decent size and came with a mint and coriander sauce my husband had the Mussels and was thoughtfully provided with a soup spoon for the white wine sauce at the bottom of the bowl. There was room for pudding which was pavilova and ice-cream both lovely. The next night it was equally as good, The service was very friendly, quick and good value.

“"A good find!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We were on holiday in Sidbury and have never been to Budleigh Salterton. This little gem of a place was hidden up a side road but it was pram friendly and there was room for us so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was cosy and we were not made to feel rushed at all. The food was served promptly and the staff was friendly.

We highly recommend Devonshire cream tea, with freshly made fruit scones. My husband enjoyed the local mussels. We would like to return again to sample more food from their menu. The couple next to our table had what appeared to be a lovely roast dinner. The potatoes looked crispy and delicious but unfortunately we just popped in for a snack and a rest.

“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Whilst recently on holiday in Sidmouth we twice visited this excellent restaurant in Budleigh Salterton. On both occasions the meals served were excellent and the staff were both helpful and courteous.I would suggest though that if you intend to visit on a Saturday evening it might be better to make a booking.
Highly recommended.

“Excellent Bistro-style Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

What a delightful place and what friendly, helpful staff, not to mention our delicious meals; we had mussels for starters and fish also for our main courses, all of which were scrumptious. We look forward to our next visit to BS and to A Slice of Lyme.
