The woman at the visitor's center at the Castle in Belmonte recommended this restaurant just down the hill and called ahead for us to see if it was open on Sunday - one of the few in Belmonte that was open. A small, charming restaurant, we were the only patrons until a local resident came in when we were almost done. At first we sat outside on the small patio, but went inside when it started to rain. The menu was small but very nice and we ended up having two specials - a bacalao dish and a duck dish that were both wonderful. The waiter - and owner - was wonderful also. He gave us a short lesson in Portuguese as well as treating us like family. Overall, a fantastic experience.
