“Dream wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

I held my wedding at this gorgeous boutique winery in late June with the help of Ilaria (Glam Events inTuscany) and Valentina (manager of Capannelle). The beauty of this hideaway on a hill is indescribable. Breathtaking to say the least. I highly recommend staying here if you can, or at least coming by to try some of the delicious wine and experience true Tuscan hospitality. We'll definitely be back to visit again.

Also, if your considering a wedding in Tuscany, contact Ilaria who executed our dream wedding to every last detail.

We spent two nights at Capannelle. We were sad to leave and started planning a return before we had even left. The staff is so lovely. Giulia took us on a tour and tasting. We had such a great time with her. Valentina was an excellent communicator over email and phone and helped us get everything settled before our arrival. The rooms are so comfortable. It was easily the best sleep we had in Italy. We were referred to restaurants in the area for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of dining in the area. It was a perfect stay. We walked away thinking how magical our stay was. Sitting by the pool in the evening as the sounds of Gaiole in Chianti waft up the hill. Just a stunning experience. We'll definitely return.

Could not have been better hosts and the room, location, and wine was spectacular. The breakfasts was excellent and the tour of the working winery was the highlight along with tasting out on the patio enjoying the view. Perfect place to relax. Definitely plan on visiting again!

Perfect place for a romantic break! Charming staff, delicious wine, lovely setting. It felt for us like we had the place to ourselves, it has only a few rooms and it felt very exclusive. Lovely infinity pool over looking Gaiole. Gaiole is small but the location is good to visit the rest of Chianti and Siena. Nice breakfast served on the terrace. You do need to travel into town for dinner but you can walk down the (steep) hill.

Everything about Capennelle is beautiful, the rooms, the grounds, the view, the wine and the service. The bathroom in our room was luxurious. We had a tour of the winery and cellar followed by a tasting accompanied with local meats and cheeses. We slept through the normal breakfast time but they served us cappuccino, orange juice and cornettis in on the terrace anyway. There's no restaurant but there are several good places to eat in Gaioli which is right down the hill. I highly recommend Capennelle!

We stayed at Capanelle Wine Resort as part of our honeymoon trip around Italy, and it was a highlight of our holiday. We stayed in the suite, which faces out toward Gaiole, and has beautiful views. The suite had everything that we could need - the bedroom was spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom and walk in wardrobes were splendidly opulent. The breakfast was delicious, with an excellent selection of foods, and fresh juice. As we were staying over Easter, we were also treated to compulsory chocolate egg at breakfast on Easter Sunday.

We also took a private tour of the winery, and had the lunch with wine pairings. It was a great experience. The wines were delicious, the food complimented them perfectly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly - both Valentinas helped to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. We were very well looked after from the moment we arrived til the moment we left. We will most definitely be returning.

We visited Capannelle in late December. After over an hour drive on mountain roads, we arrived in Gaiole and went up the hill to the winery. The setting is spectacular and at the same time unassuming. We were greeted by Barbara and led on the winery tour by Manuele, who brought in the winemaker to answer our more technical questions. After the tour, we were treated to an amazing 5 course lunch with wine pairings. Julianna prepared the menu and the food and it was excellent. We started with the chardonnay, moved on to the chianti classico, the Solare and the 50/50 for the cheese course. We were treated to the rosato at the end of the meal.

The wines are solid. Our favorite was a toss up between the Solare and the 50/50. In the end we had spent almost four hours at Capannelle, and it flew by.

Certainly worth the trip and probably our most favorite winery experience in Italy.
