I can't say enough good things about Borgolecchi. It's an amazing place. Ana and Morgaro are some of the nicest people I've met and I can honestly say that I couldn't have felt more at home. I didn't want to leave.
I travel a lot for work and I've stayed all kinds of places. Borgolecchi can hold its own with the best of them. I've seen less comfortable and inviting five star hotels, but I have never been to a B&B as good as this one.
Just like Chianti in general, Borgolecchi offers a rare blend of charm and comfort. There's no pretence here, just honest attention to detail and a homely, sincere service that will leave you wanting for nothing.
The rooms are great, comfortable as they come and full of rustic charm. The bathrooms are great – mine had a jacuzzi – and everything's spotless and meticulously maintained. Everything works, including the wifi, which unfortunately is not always the case in Italy. The hosts couldn't be more accommodating or genuinely welcoming – and they lay on a proper breakfast spread in the mornings in a kitchen that's buzzing all day with activity. Everything's tasty and fresh and comes in abundance. But I'd have been happy just with one of Morgaro's coffees.
And the best thing I can say about Borgolecchi? I can't wait to go back.
