We spent 6 nights at this property and we are a family of four (two adults and two young children). The property is just off the two lane road (~50 meters) so it's somewhat quiet at night. Our room faced the road. Parking is in a secured gated area.
The room, though not on the large size, was nicely decorated with a desk, antique furniture and wall hangings. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had a shower (no tub), but, no area to store toiletries. The room and bathroom was clean. There is a little sititng area outside of our entry door and we also had a drying rack. This sitting area with it's own walkway was completely private for our own use.
The breakfast buffet was great with lots of cheeses, selection of meats, rolls, cake, yogurts, cererals, and fruits. Nothing to complain about there. The owner would come around and serve us cappuccino's. I always looked forward to the breakfast that they had available. During the summer, they have sitting areas outside under vines which is very pretty and tranquil. The inside sititng area similar to our sleeping unit is nicely decorated and maintained.
There is a good size semi-in ground swimming pool. However, there is not shallow end and the water is about four feet deep. But, the pool and the surrounding deck chair sitting area again are immaculate. This area also has a great view down into the shallow valley below. It was very relaxing sitting out here during the evening to drink beer/wine.
The owners appear to run this B&B as a full time business ( in addition to his antique store in town) and live in the adjoining house. But, during our stay, you could not hear any sounds from neighbouring unit or from the house itself. In a write up in the room, the owners do ask to purchase wine/beer from them if you plan to sit in the 'common area'. Though, another couple who stayed there had brought their own wine and the owner didn't seem to mind. Regardless, the price of wine/beer are reasonable.
The B&B is in proximity to the major highway so getting around is easy. From here we drove into Florence twice (park at the Michelango David on top of the hill because parking is free!), Siena, the small Chianti towns, and other towns within the vicinity.
As mentioned previously, the property itself is immaculate...but so much so that I felt slightly uncomfortable of not putting things back into place. The owners are very friendly, but, I really couldn't speak much to him due to myself not speaking Italian.
There were some issues. The area has some mosquitos so I couldn't keep the windows open unless I had the outdoor shutters closed. But, the shutters wouldn't let any air circulate. Luckily they have air conditioning in the room, so, this kept us comfortable. Though when we arrived the rooms were clean, I'm pretty certain our bathroom wasn't cleaned even once while we stayed. Kind of dissappointing because our towels were regularly changed. They have two dogs. On a couple of occassion, we found dog feces beside our car. Though most of it was cleaned up within 24 hours, I had to 'flick' some of it to the side. The view from the pool isn't the perfect picturesque scene because to the left of the property, there is some light/medium industrial area which looks like a warehousing area. But, this isn't an issue, just something to beware off.
For the price I paid, I expected a little bit more from our stay such as a larger room, a better view, and more cleaning of our room during our stay. For myself and family, we don't have to stay at such a nice B&B so I can stay at a much simpler/plainer establishment. But, for those who are looking for a clean comfortable place to stay in a central region in Tuscany, I would recommend it to my friends.
