This hotel is set in a beautiful location just outside Poggibonsi, close to the Chianti region so serves as an excellent base for touring the area. The accommodation is quite basic and old fashioned but comfortable. There is no fridge in the room and you will be charged and extra EUR5 for the air conditioning but otherwise the staff are very friendly and helpful. My recommendation for dinner after a long day of driving is La Canteria, which is about a 300m walk from the hotel. Get there early on Saturday as it fills up with locals. The food is great however and they have a very extensive wine list. The close proximity to the hotel means the driver can also enjoy a glass of wine! :-)
Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view off the main road.
