“excellent food and super hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We ate here on two occasions and the pasta was fresh and very tasty. Not only was the food good but the service was excellent and the location means you can watch the world go by if you eat outdoors.

On our 2nd nights stay in Modica, we locked ourselves out of our Villa and the Owner (aka Mama) and a young waitress helped us track down our Agency and get a spare key sorted - wonderful people with hearts of gold.....thank you x

“Central, cheap and cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

The review's title says it all. If you want a very good plate of pasta, you're short of time, don't want to spend too much money and in a central location this is the place to go.

We went here at a decidedly strange time (1830hrs) in a rush and within 25 minutes we ordered, had the food and paid the bill. The decor and service ain't nothing to write home about, but the pasta dishes are excellent in their simplicity without punching a hole in your pocket. Bravo!

“Good price and food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

We visited this September for lunch and wanted a plate of pasta.
They werent very busy and we had a private room upstairs in front of the church.
The pasta was excellent, but the room needs some more decor.

“Modica's best kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

It may look like a tourist trap, since it's located just in front of St. Peter's Duomo in Modica Bassa, but this restaurant, which conveniently includes a snack bar and a pastry shop, it's one of Modica's best kept secrets.

The restaurant is family-run and the menu includes all local delicacies with a delicious home touch, since each dish is personally prepared by the lady of the house. I loved the green beans soup with pasta ("lolli con macco di fave") and the pork's dishes. Pizza is available, too. If in a hurry you can get the local snacks, from "arancini" (shallow fried rice balls with vegetable or meat filling) to "scacce" (pastries with various fillings).

The desserts are fantastic, both the "cannoli" filled with ricotta cheese and the "granite" of lemon, figs or mulberry.

And on top of all of this, it's also quite cheap! I went there for three nights in a row!
