First things first, this is not a restaurant, it is a chocolate shop and a patisserie.
Any visit to the wonderful city of Modica is not complete until you have visited this wonderful little shop. Modican chocolate is a unique product steeped in the history of Sicily and its Spanish colonial past and Bonajuto is the place to experience it at its very best. The shop has all of the flavours available to taste, the only difficulty is deciding which is the best (70% cocoa or chilli for me) What is not quite as obvious is that the shop also sells a range of pastries, including amongst the best Cannoli I have ever tasted (which is saying something) and the most curious n'panarghiti (my poor attempt at spelling) pastries filled with chocolate, almonds and beef mince (yes that is correct). The shop is well worth seeking out and, unlike many places in this part of Sicily, English is spoken.
