We were taken to this restaurant by family members who live in Modica as we had said that we wanted to eat traiditional Modican food. We were not disappointed! We were served a large plate of antipasti which comprised ricotta, scaccie (v typical of this region), arancini, mini bruschette, grilled aubergines, amongst other things. This followed with three (yes THREE!) different homemade pasta dishes - pasta con le fave (pasta and broad bean stew) ravioli con ricotta and another pasta. Following on from the pasta we were then served the meat that had been cooked in the pasta sauces: beef, pork and sausage - these were served with a dish of roast potatoes. Then finally came the desert of a miniature ricotta cannolo. All this was washed down with as much red wine as we could drink.
It's not fancy food, it's simple and tasty - just like my mamma would prepare! It's also excellent value at only €19 ea and this included the wine and bottled water. I had to undo the button of my jeans before leaving to allow myself to breathe!
