“simply beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2010

I went to Villa Sicilia with my family for a week and absolutely loved it. The house is a slice of heaven, lovingly restored by Emerico. The villa is steeped in culture and history; lying in the salt water infinity pool you can gaze out to the sea and the Greek temples at Hera. The only downfall is that you will return home at least a stone heavier after the delicious Sicilian food cooked by Asunta! An over all pampered and glorious first time trip to Sicily, and one that I hope we can do again.

The beautiful Villa Sicilia reflects times long gone. Emerico, the host, is sharing his rich knowledge about the history of the house and Selinunte. You feel welcome from the first moment on and enjoy the quite and exclusive atmosphere. The staff and Emerico are very friendly and obliging. The rooms are renovated and tastefully furnished. The candlelight dinners are superbe. The sea is not missing because of the nice swimming pool area, from where you have a view over the temples and the sea. Very recommendable!

One of the most unique, rich and enjoyable travel experiences ever and we have travelled the world extensively.

Emerico Amari has restored his family's farm house with refined elegance and luxurious comfort, while retaining the rustic charm and historical integrity - he has even used segments of transparent flooring to expose the ancient layers below as was done in the new Acropolis Museum in Athens.

Emerico and his staff provided invisible attention to every detail as if we were in a grand 5 star hotel in Europe or Asia. But, as if we had rented a private villa, we were treated to the personal touch of a world class chef who asked what we liked and did not like, then shopped for the freshest seafood and local/home grown products and prepared them magnificently to our taste. She and her assistant then served us a private candlelight dinner in the garden overlooking the olive orchard. This was one of the culinary highlights of our 3 week stay in Italy.

The combination of aesthetic appeal, peace and quite - no traffic or hordes of tourists -ancient ruins of Selinunte, fabulous private beach and stupendous food and service all add up to a must do experience. As an added bonus, if you are interested in the ancient history of Selinunte, Emerico will share the passion and knowledge that goes along with his family's 500 year history on this property.

I came to Villa Sicilia with my mum for our trip together before my wedding!!! It was a magical experience...To stay in the Villa is like coming back in time...you find yourself surrounded by history, Sicilian history and the history of the all humanity....
the Villa was restored by the owner, Emerico Amari, with love and knowledge...he welcomes his guests in this paradise, and explains with passion the history of the place and of the near archaeological site, Selinunte...you can feel that he is competely in love with his land...

the service is perfect...Alom, the smiling butler, will help you in any way, and the cook, Assunta, will enchant you with delicious dishes prepared with only fresh and superb ingredients...you feel at home and really cared of...

a magic vacation....
