“Good location for lake maggiore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

We booked two rooms. The hotel is on good location on highway with a friendly staff. Amenities were very good with clean bathroom an verygood shower. Breakfast was good and ample. Beds are comfortable. Lake is nearby with a lots of restaurants with good menu.

This hotel was chosen as just a stop over on our way home, which would hopefully be interesting. Dormelletto, itself is not very interesting but it is close to the pretty town of Arona and handy for the lakeside drive along the bank of Lake Maggiore.

The hotel is like a business type hotel, clean, smart, efficient, but no cosy or homely nic nacs., but this is reflected in the reasonable price. The receptionist did not speak English but in her way tried to be as helpful as she possible could. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good and plentiful. Next door there is a wonderful restaurant with the unusual name of Red Beef.

There were no unusual smells that I encountered as I have read in an earlier review. Should I need accommodation in the Dormelletto area I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again, though I probably would not use it for a main holiday.

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my wife and 2 kids in the last week of August 2012. The hotel offers a very good position for those who wish to visit Lago Maggiore and even Lago the Como. It was excellent in all senses. Rooms have all comodities (comfy beds, air conditioning, TV, internet) Very clean rooms and common parts and good and friendly service. Hotel is close to Pizzeria, steak house, gelateria and more) Less than 5 mins drive to supermarket. 10 mis drive to Saafari Park that is a good place to visit for both adults and kids. Breakfast was also great. Included salamis, ham, croissants, fruits in syrup, cereal, boiled eggs, sausages, pies, cakes and more) Price was also very reasonable. I paid 750euro for the whole stay. Superb for a 3 star. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The room was very small with terrible smell of mildew. The beds were uncomfortable and the mattresses were sloping. breakfast was awful. It was not enough and the cakes were not fresh.i am glad that we stayed in this hotel only 2 nights and not more.

The hotel is situated on the main road to towns like Stresa and Verbania. You can hear the sound of the road, but it's not very loud. Because of this location you can easily drive upon the Lago Maggiore but also drive to Milan (± 40 min.). When we arrived we got a map of the area, but the receptionist hardly spoke any English (later on a different receptionist spoke English and informed us about the best way to visit Milan). The room was clean, not very big but had everything you expect from a hotel room. Don't get too excited about the pictures of the massage shower, it does works, but is not very great as it is very small and doesn't has that much functions. However the stay was fine and so was the breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not directly on the road side.

After a disastrous day, ending up being late due to trains and having our booked hotel room down the road turn us away, a brilliant taxi driver - Bruno - spent almost an hour driving around the area helping us find another hotel. This was it, when we arrived the owner was very helpful, found us a room at normal price and even offered us a free breakfast the next day!

The room was lovely, large, spotlessly clean, quiet, nice bathroom, air conditioning, safe, fridge - everything you could possibly want. For 75 euros it was remarkable value, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good too!

Great hotel!!

The hotel was good, clean adn friendly staff, only one thing is pity that the staff doesn't speak english, and no information about the area of the hotel and around, Only map we get. Maybe because of the language.
For short stop before continue the trip to another place is ok because the hotel doesn't have direct access to the lake. is more to business hotel then for holiday.
