We booked last minute and totally on the hoof so had no idea what to expect. Villa San Raffaello surpassed all expectations, Our hosts, Damien, Sharon, Grace and Louis were so welcoming as to make us feel as though we were coming home. The apartments were tastefully decorated, thoughtfully planned and full of character. Going to somewhere new and rural is always a worry when you have a small family and at a loss as to what to do but with the help of our hosts everyday was an adventure. We had the time of our lives and genuinely can not wait to go back!

I visited in March this year and and enjoyed a lovely relaxing week. The villa itself is charming as are the owners, who are very helpful with lots of information about the local area, produce, amenities and so on. The town of Sarnano is a short drive or a 20 minute walk away and is a joy with it's many bustling cafe's, bars and restaurants. The people are very warm and friendly and you get a real feeling of community spirit which has been lacking on other holidays that I have been on. I have recommended it to all of my friends. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday villa with a busy town nearby, then look no further.

We travel to Italy frequently for business and pleasure and needed this particular time to find a base to make the most out of our week in Italy. We found Villa San Raffaello and found the website to be through and extremely informative – everything you can think of is on there – and if not the owners find out info straight away and revert back to you. This won us over immediately through the professional and efficient handling of every question and set the tone from booking process through to our arrival and the whole of our stay.
We arrived at the Villa to a warm and thoughtful welcome – and were really impressed by the story and personalities of Damian and Sharon who have created a fabulous villa with hard work and sheer love of the area. The apartment we stayed in – Eliza was perfect – stunning views over the mountain ranges and Sarnano from the balcony and out of every window lush green Italian countryside. Excellent kitchen facilities, comfortable beds and a tranquil atmosphere. Great extras such as WI FI, Sky, books, DVDs and music were much appreciated. The log burner was an excellent way of warming the apartment (we needed to do this as the weather was slightly inclement!) We were particularly impressed by the owners ethos for eco thoughtfulness and sustainability – tree planting and nurturing the landscape and organic veg patch. Damian and Sharon’s knowledge of the local area was superb – especially impressed by the restaurants they recommended and food/drink and sorting horse riding out in the most fantastic place to explore the mountains. Also very grateful and impressed by their open and friendly ‘can do’ attitude – all credit to them – and with much affection we will heartily recommend as much as possible. An excellent base to explore a really wonderful area.

Best feature was daytime mountain view, nightime town view.
Walk into town along busy roadside, not so pleasant. Would have preferred shorter distance along footpaths.
