This was our fourth visit to Villa San Raffaello, the test this time being could the Villa and Sarnano continue to deliver the perfect holiday for us and our now pre teen children.
The answer of course was yes, the children now 12, 10 and 7 enjoyed the familiarity of the villa, the pool, hammocks and beautiful surroundings, their growing independence meant they enjoyed ordering their own food in restaurants, and staying up a bit later whilst we enjoyed a drink in one of the bars. (A memorable night in Sticky Fingers with a Rolling Stones tribute band that saw the children playing with the locals, and the 10 year old dancing with a tina turner look a like springs to mind.)
We continued to discover new restaurants, and experiences. Donkey trekking in Smerillo as recommended by Damien was a particular highlight.
We enjoyed the beach at Porto San Giorgio, frequenting a concession called Captain Harlock which serves outstanding, very reasonably priced seafood pasta for lunch.
Lago di fiastre remains one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places we have visited and the selection of co-operative restaurants makes it such an easy day out for the family.
We stayed in apartment Grazia, it's big, spacious, and well equipped. A two week stay meant that we were provided with clean linen mid week. Damien and Sharon are always around to help, but are never intrusive.
We will be back I'm sure. We would like to visit in the main festa week, as well as visit at some point without the children to see a different side to Sarnano.
Villa San Raffaello continues to deliver on every level, we can't recommend it highly enough.
