“THE BEST OF DINGLE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

We had walked from Ventry to Dunquin, this was a superb place to rest our weary legs, lovely welcome from Angela, incredible views from lounge/conservatory towards sleeping giant and Blasket Islands

Angela has excellent local knowledge in terms of finding eating places, taxis etc

The room was spotless and breakfast was perfect for a group of walkers with an excellent appetite, evrything was available cooked breakfasts, porridge, cereal, fruit.

This is one of th one places that one cannot find anything negative to write about. The hosts were so helpful despite having a family emergency. The level of service and the accomodations were as good as it gets. And then you add the incredible view. Can't get much better than this.

Room Tip: We had the family suite which were two rooms off the den. It worked wonderfully for two adults and...

Dunquin is simply stunning. Scenery almost too good to be true. This b&b is in the heart of it and gives you all you'd want.

This is one of the houses (and we slept in over 20 B&Bs so far) which is beautiful from both the outside and the inside. DeMordha is liing a little below the main road from Cliff road to Dunquinn, but 500m from the short cut locals would take to reach Dingle town, hence in a main but traffice reduced location. The house is immaculate, surrounded by very carefully maintained gardens and a lovely little stone wall.
The rooms are perfectly equipped, the free wi-fi a nice little bonus. It is quick, so that you can realy use it, what is not always the case in other houses. The design is cosy-old-comfy, the real traditional B&B style, but not the comfortable-rustical kind of some farmhouses. This gives
an enjoyable feeling of "higher standart".
After a moment of euphory I regretted not being able to use the bathtub and was told this is because the warm water is not sufficient for all. Also, the bathroom has one of this ventilation fans which starts automatically when swithing on the light, and stays on for at least 5-10 minutes after you switch the light on again. This is common in Irish houses, to avoid moisture, but is a bit irritating if you just go to the toilet by night and have the noise once back in bed... I had great difficulties to regulate the temperature, either fresh or boiling hot, but this might be only me... The mirror was a bit too low for me to see myself (1,83m)... On the other hand, the bathroom is REALLY big and EXTREMELY clean. Bit plus for these two aspects.
You will hear any step made by the guests in the other rooms above you. But then, it is an old house..
Sleeping was very very good. A good matterace, very big pillows for a great reading before going to sleep, and sooooo fresh and crisp linnen. Wow. Slept like a baby. No noise.
The breakfast was at a good Irish standart, and we particularly appreciated Angela's repeated offers to refill coffee and bring new toast.
Angela was indeed an excellent host and directed us to an excellent pub in the hotel in the next village (really to recommend). I just regretted i wasn't offered a room on the first floor, even though we were the only guests, this because the other rom was a two beds room and I was a single person. I did not really enjoy my ground level room (see comments below). A tiny bit of flexibility would had been welcome...
The big highlight of the house is the location with the view. While lots of great B&Bs are perfectly located, you would be able to see some scenic highligts from some of the windows. But never did we have a winter garden with three comfortable sofas facing directly such a perfect view. It was even nice to sit there while a strong shower wetted all of Dingle. Well done!! Outside seating weahter permitting, must be a stunning experience for a unhindered sunset (the view is straight West, with only the most famous of the Blanket Islands, the Sleeping Giant, "obstructing" the view...

PS: without having really checked, I am not sure whether hiking facilities are available. The rooms seem not particularly equipped for shoe and clothes drying etc, what is a pity on the Dingle Way. But then, again, there are enough hiker's hostels in the village.

Room Tip: Chose the uper level rooms if possible. My room, located on the ground level, had a (very) large w...

We felt very welcomed to Angela's B and B. The room was well appointed. We enjoyed her sunroom to sit in and watch the sleeping giant, Slea Head and sunset from while drinking tea. We liked the Irish music at breakfast! This was the B and B with the most scenic view on the Dingle walking trip we did.

A lovely B&B, with excellent and caring hosts. Our bedroom was bright and cheerful, and well appointed, however the bedroom (a twin) was a little on the small side, the bathroom certainly do. In certain respects the room ought to have been four out of five, however I have erred on the conservative side of assessment here. A delightful conservatory with beautiful views was made available to us, as was a lovely living room. The breakfast was fullsome and excellent. Overall certainly recommended.
