This is my favourite place to eat in the lovely old village in Malia. It is in a lovely setting, with a beautiful tree full of pink flowers in the courtyard. It is a traditional Cretan taverna with very helpful, friendly staff.
The sangria was lovely and sweet, and packed with fruit, the house rose wine was also lovely.
We were served bread & 2 lovely home made dips which were really tasty - one a type of pesto made from olives, the second made from butter with herbs and peppers. I ordered the garlic lamb, which was absolutely amazing. The lamb was very very tender, and came with potatoes which were also amazing. This was most definitely my favourite meal during my recent holiday to Malia in May 2013.
My mum had Kleftiko, which is served in a traditional clay pot. She had Kleftiko in another place (Kalesma restaurant) and said the one at Odas was certainly the better of the two.
Very generous portions, absolutely delicious good, great staff, excellent value....Odas Taverna should be at number one in the list of places to eat. I have eaten here before on my previous visit to Malia in September 2012, and was very impressed then also.
If I had to sum up Odas in one word, it would be 'perfection'.
