We arrived home 5 January 2014, having had the best holiday in Vaujany. It was not our first visit there, instead perhaps our 8th! Each and every time we return to Chalet Saskia - Why?....because it's perfect for us - there's something for everyone. This year was especially good as we filled the chalet with great friends and family, that all enjoyed. It's no exaggeration to say Marcus is quite simply an outstanding chef. He and his delightful wife, Rosa, are the Chalet Saskia gems, the magic! Our chalet girl and boy were wonderful, friendly, helpful and professional. We all enjoyed the new hot tub, located outside, next to the games room - a fabulous addition and most welcomed! Typically and annoyingly we left the day there'd been a massive dump of beautifully fresh snow, we'd only waited a week for it!!.....Ah well, we had ok snow throughout our stay and managed to get in plenty of skiing. Now, we're just left desperate to go back again next year!! ;))

Thank you for your great review and loyalty - we must be doing something right! It was an absolute pleasure having you stay yet again; I have been told that you were all a total pleasure to look after, very engaging which really helps the staff to find their bearings in the first few weeks so thank you.

Alas unfortunately the weather is something that we cannot regulate but next year I hear it will be even better!

The food would not be out of place in the best restaurants anywhere, the hospitality provided by the chalet staff is amongst the best that I have ever had. The comfort of the chalet was like being at home - it would be difficult to fault anything! Thank you all for a wonderful week.

We went for Christmas this year 2013/14. Not all members of our family/ friends party totally onboard with spending Christmas away from home and the snow wasn't fantastic. All of this didn't matter though because Chalet Saskia was divine. I have never relaxed so well on a ski holiday. The excitement at pre-dinner drinks each night, around the log burning stove was palpable as we wondered what delicacies Marcus the chef had in store for us. Seriously many members of our party cited our Christmas Eve dinner as being the BEST meal they had ever had. Each night new and exciting tastes/ combinations... the amount of effort and imagination that went into each plate was beyond compare. The staff in the chalet were so friendly, welcoming, nothing was too much trouble... we sang and got merry on several occassions, we had table tennis tounaments downstairs... we sat in the out door hot-tub looking at the moutains, we watched the most beautiful sunrises from the balonies outside our bedrooms. The staff and the accomodation were faultless. Thank you Ski Peak. I want to come every year now!

We just couldn't fault Saskia or Ski Peak for that matter. The staff are very friendly and you feel welcomed as soon as you step off the plane.

The chalet is in a perfect location with many balcony's to enjoy amazing view. The rooms are spacious, well laid out and spotlessly clean. The living area is large but very cosy, this is where you are served 5* quality food. Every night Marcus would exceed himself by creating some new and delicious. There is also another living area which is perfect for the younger ones, packed full of games and also includes a TV.

We look forward to returning again this season.

It is difficult to see how the set up wihin the chalet could be imporved. Unlike many chalets, the rooms were spacious. Staff were friendly an dco-operative. As for the food, well just excellent. Plenty of variation at breakfast, but it was difficult not to over indulge at tea time on the home made cakes, as you really did have to leave plenty of room for the excellent evening meals. Each night's meal was imaginaitive, well prepared and presented, and (most importantly) tasted superb

Our whole family with an age range from 6 months to 79 years enjoyed a wonderful week at Saskia. Amazingly the holiday met the varied needs of our eclectic mix of ages and skiers ranging from super keen to semi retired and the too young and too old to ski! The meals were the absolute highlight and the delight of superb food and wine with the children safely asleep upstairs was every parent's dream come true.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our luxury catered ski chalet Saskia has consistently been the most popular choice amongst our guests since it was built in 2000. Thanks to the combination of its picture-postcard location on the south facing, sundrenched slopes of Vaujany and its smart and stylish interior, it has become the our flagship. Chalet hosts Marcus and Rosa have built up a loyal following amongst our regulars over the years for their impeccable service, their knowledge of the area and above all Marcus's superlative cuisine. The unique mirror-image design of the chalet allows it to be used as a whole, taking advantage of all ten fully en-suite bedrooms. Alternatively, the chalet can be divided for smaller groups into two separate halves, each with their own lounge and dining areas sharing only the entrance hall plus the TV and games room. It can also be booked on a room by room basis. ... more   less
