We were so fortunate to have found such a wonderful place to stay. Lizzie and Ali were the most gracious hosts! Lizzie cooked us eggs every morning and we had pastries, fruit, bread, it was endless and such a treat! Our rooms were very comfortable ...Lizzie and Ali answered all our questions regarding the area and travel in and around Roujan. The town is quaint and wonderful. We highly recommend staying at Le Couvent..you will not be disappointed. Thanks to Lizzie for helping us with our car rental in Montpelliar!! Don't let your trip to Southern France end without a stop at this Marvelous Bed and Breakfast. Le Couvent exceeded our expectations! What a blessing for us!

It is difficult to say any more than has already been said by the many satisfied visitors to this charming Chambre D'hote set amongst the vineyards of Languedoc. Lizzie and Ali create a unique atmosphere of calm and tranquility in which to unwind and chill out. Nothing is too much trouble and at the end of our stay it felt like we had just visited old friends rather than complete strangers. We will definately return (with a Sat Nav) to try out more of the fabulous and inexpensive restaurants recommended by our charming hosts.

What a wonderful find! I almost feel I shouldn't write a review as lots of people will read how fantastic it is and book it up so that it will be full next time we want to go!

The rooms are lovely and simple and the Blue Room was large, comfortable, light and airy. A complimentary bottle of wine was in our room on arrival too which was a great touch.

Breakfasts were amazing and full of all sorts of local and homemade produce. Lizzie gets up at what seems like the crack of dawn (still dark!) and potters off to walk the dogs, then shops for all the goodies for that day's guests to devour.

I certainly didn't feel as though I was being watched whilst eating and Lizzie is an exempliary host making sure that we all had full cups of tea, coffee, orange juice and plates full to bursting the whole time!

Not sure what was meant in a previous review about re-cycled breakfast - I think they must have meant that left overs get re-cycled to the chickens (I am hoping to come back as one of Lizzie and Ali's chickens of course now I know just what they get, lucky hens!).

What is lovely too is if you have a cup of tea in the afternoon Lizzie offers any sticky buns left over from breakfast to eat with it! This is a great way of re-cycling and I'm all for that as well even if the chickens do miss out on occasion!

All in all a wonderful stay for 2 weary UK B&B'ers who, having just done from January to September were extremely glad that someone else was preparing the breakfast and looking after us for a change!

Don't hesitate to book Le Couvent, you will not be disappointed I can assure you!

Having spent 4 nights here in early September and being well travelled myself . (no stranger to overnight stays worldwide)
I cannot praise Le Couvent highly enough , it was excellent from first minute to last ..

Lovely breakfasts .... and the accomodation was first class (blue room) .. and I suspect the other rooms are superior !!

Outstanding retreat for the jaded and discerning traveller! The warm welcome from Ali and Liz made me realise I had made the right choice.
There is an intimacy here, both in the airy and clean bedroom and in the stylish renovation of the house. Decorated in in a simple Provencal manner, but with a sense of luxury in the rich fabrics, original art works and photographs than made me feel at ease with an inspirational range of books and web available. A pleasing Mediterranean garden with shady arbours for dozing and an ample pool for zing before a short drive to Pezanas for a good lunch.

Liz and Ali are most accomodating in their advice and friendship and truly enjoy what they do. Breakfast is of a range and quality that defeated me after a few days, but Liz is on hand to satisfy desires with boiled eggs from her brown hens. Good memories and a place to return to.
