I meant to review this lovely B&B immediately after our stay, but didn't get round to it. However, during the winter I've found myself thinking again and again what a wonderful time we had staying with Lizzie & Ali at Le Couvent.
They have the balance just right. This really is a very relaxed place where you can kick your shoes off and feel really at home. It's not super-smart, nor ultra-modern, but it has a very special feel - one of understated class - like old money.
If you love books, art, easy conversation, good wine and the pleasure of staying in a very beautiful faded old convent this is the place for you. There is a hidden garden with a jolly nice pool, a couple of friendly dogs and we met interesting other guests when we stayed.
You should note though, that there's no on-site parking (we had no trouble parking on the road) and the food in the village is pretty basic. They don't take kids either so that may be a blessing or a disappointment.
We'd go back in a trice and hope to go again in 2008.
