My fiancee and I have just returned from a road trip across the South of France and fell upon this hotel here on tripadvisor. The hotel itself is the only thing in the village and it was alittle difficult to find however once we drove up that drive and saw the ivy covered chateau we instantly relaxed. We booked the basic 65 euros a night room as we are saving for our wedding and were surprised to be escorted to the room by one of the staff. As this is a very old chateau it was made of brick so very cool against the outside heat. We opened the door to find a basic room but a lovely 4 poster bed which is always a treat. Now on to the good bit. For 40 euros each, you dine in either a beautiful tree lined court yard under the stars with lit candles and tree lights or in a very large cosy room overlooking the open woodfire that the food is cooked upon. My fiancee wanted to watch the chefs inside however I opted for the romance of the outdoors. Basically you get an apertif to start, 3 bottles of their own wine and more if you can drink it; rose, blanc and rouge. Choice of a starter - go for the scallops, fish course, main course, then an amazing cheese and honey course, desert - creme brulee yum, and coffee and another after dinner drink. The service was amazing, people were coming in from I don't know where but the place was packed. Needless to say we slept very well that night so a room is necessary.
